Does anyone here see how we could utilize Jaiver Arenas in the offense?
Could we not put him in and throw him some screens, come backs, and run reverses and fake reverses to him? He is the most feared player in the stadium; a weapon. Michigan used to insert Desmond Howard, a DB and returner, into their offense. Have we run a reverse recently? Would'nt #28 help #22 get open easier?

Put him in the shotgun and let him play QB.

I've still got the game where David Palmer played QB against Ole Winless. But he actually threw a nice pass along the way to keep the defense somewhat honest, though it didn't really matter. Wonder if Javy can pass?

I think we'll see #28 in the offensive mix next year some. He's fast becoming our most exciting player. Love to watch him return kicks.
I think Coach Ron Middleton has done an excellent job with the special teams this year. I think its the most improvement in that area I've seen in years at Bama.

Before we get too carried away with adding so much to our offense I think we should concentrate on getting five linemen on our offensive line who can consistantly block and then worry about reverses and stuff like that.

I think adding someone like Arenas will be fine and good when we have the blocking and strength to do so. We're a couple of years away yet from being able to win games like this outright. The day is coming, though, so we really need to have patience.

I think we should run him for president.

He's cracked the 2-deep on D, not enough? Or is offense more important than defense?

I believe you are thinking of Charles Woodson from UM. Desmond Howard played wide receiver. Woodson was the DB who did a few other things and was awarded the Heisman over a more deserving Peyton Manning. Anyway, I think we have receivers who are weapons, but we also have a mediocre QB that makes too many mistakes. We can't assume that Wilson could get the ball to Arenas any more than he can get it to Hall, McCoy, Stover, Walker, Grant, or Brown. However, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if we could get 28 the ball a little more.

I am actually hoping that we utilize the two tight-end set more against ULM and Auburn. If we can't find a way to run the ball, we may see another 7+ sacks against the Tigers. There are many ways to pass out of a two-tight set, but we can't seem to run out of a three, four, or five wide set. We'll see what the coaches come up with.

CNS has said there are enough playmakers on offense, and to let JA run some snaps on O would take him away from snaps on D, where his playmaking ability is highly coveted...we need more big-time players on D right now (despite offensive--double meaning there--performances like on Sat)

maybe he said that on "Hey Coach" sometime in the past couple of weeks? can't remember exactly...

Yes thanks for the correction. Charles Woodson played both ways for Michigan and returned kicks. Isn't he the one who did the Heisman pose against Ohio St? Also you are right; Peyton was the best player and should have won the Heisman Trophy. The northern voters cost Peyton.
