I just saw a CB to Texas for WR Lockett. Texas NIL may win out on this one but we will see. His commit date is 8/7.
It could happen. Taking one of their good ones increases the odds.Well, we still have several highly rated players we are going after also. We are ahead of everybody on avg ranking per player so I don't think we need your scenario to end up #1 as long as we finish.
Fixed it for you. We should call it what it is. NIL is just the approved term these cash offers hide behind.I just saw a CB to Texas for WR Lockett. TexasNILcash offer may win out on this one but we will see. His commit date is 8/7.
Careful now, we will counter offer. However, our ace in the hole is Russell.Fixed it for you. We should call it what it is. NIL is just the approved term these cash offers hide behind.
They may ultimately get him but that prediction may be premature.I just saw a CB to Texas for WR Lockett. Texas NIL may win out on this one but we will see. His commit date is 8/7.
And it would apparently be perfectly legal since there are no rules. But it's not NIL.Ccareful, we may counter

Semantics but NIL is absolutely not a cash offer. Its a contract and paycheck and taxable income. None of these deals are upfront and almost anytime you hear a number is greatly exaggerated from reality or comes with major caveats.Fixed it for you. We should call it what it is. NIL is just the approved term these cash offers hide behind.
No surprise there...Ty Hawood has de-commiteed
That's the guy...Wasn't this the guy who turned his recruitment into a bidding war and the staff just back away?
@ Michigan…because Ellison’s wife…”Doesn’t ever want to be the worst team on the field again. “Where did he wind up...?
The more I read about his recruitment the more it reminded me of a "shake down". The kid and those that represented him were simply in it for the money, nothing else. He may turn out to be the greatest OL in college football history. But I think our staff did the right thing to let him go and not get tied into paying millions for a HS kid who is more likely not to live up to his hype than actually live up to it. It's called risk aversion and not a bad business decision.@ Michigan…because Ellison’s wife…”Doesn’t ever want to be the worst team on the field again. “
Legit…she said that, he opened the checkbook…
In reading some of the articles about Haywood's official signing, it appears that he has been downgraded by most of the services to a 4-star. I recognize that re-evaluations happen all the time, but this late in the game (right before NSD #2) seems odd. There's no way that this whole bidding war situation would have influenced that, right? The more I read about his recruitment the more it reminded me of a "shake down".
