9 year old accidentally kills shooting instructor

I don't have any words to describe this...but maybe we should amend the constitution to say that you have to have an IQ of over 50 before you can even get near a gun? The stupidity here is mind boggling....

WHAT PART OF "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND. How dare you try and tell this patriotic 9 year old how she should be able to exercise her 2nd amendment rights? She is an American patriot sir and she was preparing to fend off all of the poors who are coming to steal her Hello Kitty(tm) lunchbox because her parents love her more than the other kids who are living on public assistance.

Commies the lot of you. When the government comes after this 9 year olds fully auto Uzi the next logical progression is to come after every single gun and register so anyone with a gun becomes a leper in ther community.

Remember the only way to stop a bad 9 year old with an Uzi is a good 9 year old with an Uzi.

For what it's worth, this is a horrible incident and I feel horribly for this little girl.

I see no valid reason to do either with a 9 year old. This has nothing to do with gun control or the second amendment. It has everything to do with common sense.

I would expect no other response by reading your past posts regarding guns.

I grew up on a farm. We shot guns for fun and hunting. Hell, I could drive cars, trucks, and tractors By the time I was 9 y/o. I could have accurately and quickly put a bullet on the paper, or between someone's eyes if the threat presented itself and I had to. Granted I know times are different today and kids don't have to grow up as quick, but there's no reason a young person can't enjoy shooting safely. The problem lies in the adult supervision in this situation. Safety should always be a top priority when handling a weapon at any age, but especially when it pertains to young people.

Folks that are brought up being taught that guns are these evil devices of death and destruction and should be destroyed, don't understand and never will. An automobile or many other devices people use on a daily basis can kill someone just as easily or easier, if safety is not a top consideration.

For those who've not fired a fully-automatic weapon, it's a whole other ballgame wrt controlling it. I've seen grown men have trouble controlling a FA 9mm rifle, much less what amounts to a FA pistol.

I'm not laying blame here (other than perhaps the RO, who should have been far more involved), but I don't think many (any) 9-year old kids could control a FA Uzi.

Btw....guess what I'm selling?

Very true......the idiot instructor should have been there hands on hers to help control the lift when she fired or at very least, only loaded a few rounds. The Uzi fires at a mind numbing rate and would be a handful for a first time adult. At least by loading 5 or less rounds the spray would only be less than a second and would not have allowed the muzzle to rise much above the target.

I've fired an Uzi, and it will just about empty a 30rd magazine before your mind can tell your finger to release the trigger. They are ridiculously hard to keep down on target, so that's why I said the instructor should have had his hands on hers to help control it, and should have never let her fire it full auto with over 5 rounds.

The instructor should have never let her touch a gun like that. I have no problem with a nine year old learning how to use a gun. But it should be limited to one they can handle.
