I swear they asked Blake Sims to do that very thing in his A-Day debut as the starter...
We had some Shula teams that did that w/o even being asked.

Man, this takes me back to my adolescence. I was in High School when Shula was coach. I was very passionate and around ‘05 I remember getting annoyed and upset about Lee Roy Jordan saying something about our team being undersized and undisciplined and basically a bunch of scrubs. But he was totally right and I figured that out when we hired Saban and saw how much better we played, and then started getting his players, lol.We had some Shula teams that did that w/o even being asked.
yeah, I am right there with you. I suspended YouTubeTV after Alabama lost in the NCAA Tournament. I am on the fence if I will end up canceling all together. My interest is as low as the attendance. I hate that I’ve gotten this way.
In CKD’s defense this is the way to do it when you’re not a big fish in a little pond. Alabama has lost recruits to money already, there’s no reason to give opponents with lots of cash free access to video of your players. Even this format allows that, but to a lesser degree. You reap what you sow
There's a good crowd there in the end zone seats of one side.
I’m just speaking to the game as a whole. In CKD’s defense this is the way to do it when you’re not a big fish in a little pond. Our only hope for initiating guardrails on all this NIL/Portal junk is when game day stadiums across the country look like A-Day.You reap what you sow
it looks slightly better than an Alabama Baseball attendance. There were more people at 5 of the 7 state championship games this year than A-day.There's a good crowd there in the end zone seats of one side.
That is a fun idea but our reality right now is we can’t even get CFB kids to dress out for Bowl games they deem meaningless.I think we should get together with a couple of teams and have a jamboree with a quarter of football for each team. Maybe UAB, North Alabama, and Alabama State, A&M or some other smaller schools.
There are creative ways to avoid injuries for exhibition games. I think it would be better than a glorified practice. That is a fun idea but our reality right now is we can’t even get CFB kids to dress out for Bowl games they deem meaningless.
I don’t think Major school’s players would risk getting hurt by players from a small school before the season when they view the regular season as an audition for the NFL.
That’s pessimistic I guess but I just have no faith anymore about today’s CFB players.
They are such ‘ME ME ME’ players.
No kidding... Remember seeing pictures of our guys in 2012 compared to 2005 and even though I knew we were a totally different team physically by 2008... It was simply crazy how much better developed we were and you could see how Saban's philosophy about who he took based on templates of a certain size made the difference.Man, this takes me back to my adolescence.
