a look ahead........(shall we)

it's not unusual for an avid fan to look ahead to the future but i was wondering how good this team could be next year and thought about who would (or should) be on the squad next season.

C - JD-so. - should be stronger and more exp. will become a huge shot blocking presense.

PF - CD-jr. - should be stronger and more consistant not many will be able to stop him.

SF - KW-jr. - has really showed his stuff w/ more to come, will become a take over the gamer, more of a leader can't see his game elevating too much more.

SG - ES-sr. - the front court will be so strong he'll probably have alot of open shots and he can also become more of a vocal leader.

PG - Ronnie Steele-tr.fr. - won't get to see him play until the state tourney but the word on tha street has been loud. a true all-am type point on this team will be ridiculous. and this guy shoots the 3 well (i hear)

1st off. EB-jr. - should be stronger and more exp. could "spell" the 2-5 pos. has a nice mid. rg J exp. will be the key.

2nd off - Jean Felix-jr - is killing em in JCs is explosive and athletic and of course can shoot the 3.

3rd off. Shawn Taylor rsf.- @ 6'11 and hopefully 20lbs heavier (220)should be an excellent option for 4-5pos. averaged a triple dub in HS 11 blocks a game should avg 3-4 in college.

4 - Miles/Weber - who will catch on the quickest. these guys are important esp. if we lose Winston

5 - Lakori Daniels - was supposed to see quality min. before his injury could be another Pett.

Again Bama should be very quick and athletic and should be among the leaders in the country from 3 land. i'm excited about the present and future of Bama BBall.

I hear Lucky Williams doesn't have much of an offensive game so PT will be limited.

Jonus is on the team as a walk-on but hasn't played at all.

As for the original analysis I agree with most. The rotation for the 4 and 5 positions seems pretty clear. Davidson, Davis, and Taylor. Adkins may see some time at the 4 slot if he gets stronger. Actually I expect Adkins to become our primary power forward over time. I disagree that Davis will be a force and that most won't be able to stop him. I think he's been figured out by coaches wathcing tape. He's solid and I like him. He plays hard, I just wouldn't call him a force.

The rotation for positions 1-3 will be very interesting. We will have some very talented wing players. Winston, Brock, and Felix at the 3 slot. Shelton,Weber, and Miles at the 2. Steele and Daniels at the point with Jonus thrown in somewhere. That's some serious backcourt strength.

If Brock can improve his shooting, I really like his chances to play a significant role. He's a great athlete but teams play of him and let him shoot. If he develops a consistent shot he would be a HUGE matchup problem for the opposition.

Having seen Albert Weber play, I would be surprised if he does not play at least 20 minutes per game. My guess is that he will be the primary backup at the SG position and could also be the primary backup at PG. I have not seen Daniels play, but I think it will be hard to keep Weber off of the court.

Good to hear guys. I got to see the intersquad game, and Sean Taylor looked pretty good. I hope he will pus some weight on and evolve into another Erwin Dudley. Thats my prediction at least.

Glen Miles is my wild card. At 6'4 he could play 1-3 very easily and with his tenacious defense and playmaking ability I cant see him sitting much either. I believe we have enough talent to redshirt talent now!

Bama will have one the best defensive units in the nation next season. We will miss Pettway and Emmitt, but the even better potential is on the way.

Yet, in the SEC and the schedule CMG will employ, Bama's youth(on the perimeter) will cause us some games. Let's hope Kennedy returns also. He and Shelton will be the leaders. Steele, Myles, and Weber should play. Gottfried seems a little partial to gaurds, while he doesn't just throw young guys in there. So hopefully his hold off of Adkins, Taylor, and Jonus will payoff.

If Chuck Davis can get a mental grip on the game....THEN he will be unstoppable. He seems to be the only one stopping himself. Once his intelligence matches his ability, look out. I hope he can become a Justin Reed type for us.
