So is Dear the real deal?

I know we never really established the run because we had JM stealing touches and an OL that really struggled, but after seeing our back this year, I'm not sure there a real "star" among them. I hope I'm wrong, but at the beginning of the year the RBs were considered a great strength.

So might we look to the portal for a real, proven, game changing type back?

I think our backs and receivers are more than sufficient. The problem has been lack of distribution.

I've lost a little faith that they're really what we thought. Have we had any back break a long run this year? I don't see the toughness that I see from the backs on other teams where they drag 2-3 guys with them and always fall forward. I just haven't seen any combination of fast, tough, elusive, instinctive from any of the backs. Closest I've seen is Young and he must have some other serious issues since he can't get on the field. About halfway through the season I really started watching and questioning since I was so underwhelmed and had such high expectations.

There’s no consistent intermediate game. We can’t regularly complete simple slant passes. Jam and Justice are seriously under utilized, as is K-Law not to mention the O-line woes.

It's one of the reasons I asked. I don't recall too many house calls this year..especially in big games. JM...yeah, but not from the running backs.

Overall, the seemed to plod/dance rather than his holes with speed. Wonder about their field vision?

UPDATE...

We're going to keep a running in/out list from the transfer portal in the body of the first post in this thread, similar to what we did with the list of staff hires last year. Check that post for the latest updates.

I'm more interested in the downstream effects of the Settlement on the final player numbers. I think it'll create an effect like basketball - teams will not be able to hold/buy all of the good players all the time. It should force players to start thinking more like adults when deciding if they're going to leave for a better financial offer elsewhere.

I just can't believe the hate for Jalen Milroe here. He literally won us last years SEC Championship Game and took us to 1 College Playoff game.

He scored 20 rushing TD's and 15 passing TD's this year.

He will be a NFL 1st round draft choice and he has shown total loyalty to his alma-mater.

There was even a Jalen Milroe appreciation thread earlier this year.

Looks like I am the only Milroe fan on this board.

Let the HATERS hate.

You are correct about all those things. He also lost us the Oklahoma game and the playoff this year. And I like the kid. Just don't want him as the starting QB.
