Yeah that would be called domestic terrorism, and not a competent movement capable of breaking from or taking over the United States.
If something like that happens it wouldn’t necessarily take over, but just like Northern Ireland it would be an awful place to live, and maybe nothing comes of any of this long term as it relates to violence. I sure hope it doesn’t, but to think it can’t happen here when our culture is so fractured you are simply wrong.

Smaller third world countries with a lot of major ethnic groups with clear and organized goals. The United States is too large and too rich of a country to really compare to Syria or the Balkans.

Plus our fringe groups are way too unorganized to pull it off. For example we really don’t have a universal opinion on what the overall goal of the alt right movement is other than whites and the far right should run A country, which country and how they is achieved is muddy across the ranks.
The alt right isn’t who you should be worried about to begin with. The true alt right aren’t large in number and have little main stream influence no matter what CNN says. The far left is what you should concern yourself with. They are the ones taking over areas of large cities and attempting to take over more. Socialist/Marxists have legitimate influence in government and media. I don’t think they form an army and march across the country, but they turn us into a country whereviolence for political ends even if unorganized is common.

Northern Ireland also has groups with clear and organized goals, and is a place in which religious and colonial issues persisted into the modern day. It was a hotbed for violence and the British largely wanted to ignore it was a problem and thought it would just go away like most post WWII splinter groups.

Comparing a group like the IRA and groups like the modern day Klan and whatever passes for Antifa in America you can see one side has clear goals and beliefs while the others are just whiny Sabre rattling donkeys who can’t collectively come up with a clear direction of where to go.

I would say if America was really in danger of falling to these groups that you are referring to then we would’ve already fallen in the last hundred years. These donkeys today have nothing on the 2nd and early 3rd Klan in terms of organization, support, and effectiveness.

Could we fall victim to these type of fringe groups? Possibly, but the ones now aren’t even close to being capable of doing it.

Again what group are you referring to as a capable group? Because none of them have been even close to bringing the Troubles to America. They are mostly Couisin Eddie’s gun club members and college students who are in the “Che” phase doing most of this crap. More or less the last 20 years of the US as normal.... with the exception of who is in the executive.

The US isn’t falling to these groups. They can however cause major unrest like they are doing now by mixing in with legitimate protest movements and causing issues, rioting, and violence in cities controlled by

You are discounting their ability to grow and develop. They have already done that to some extent over the past two weeks. They don't have the organization of the IRA, but that is somewhat by design. If you study Antifa they are decentralized on purpose, but have writings about organizing and how they function. The cells have leadership and they cooperate. I'm in no way saying the antifa flag will fly above the Whitehouse. What I am saying is they are a reasonably organized group of cells that can grow. They are loud and they are violent. They also have people in power sympathetic to the cultural Marxism cause. The try to use violence and the threat of violence to get their way. They and others on the left are also doing all they can to silence any voice of dissent. They DO NOT want free speech and freedom of thought to continue. They want to control the narrative in public and private through intimidation. That is what this cancel culture is. This may all fizzle out, but it can also grow. These people are dangerous. No one thought the things that happened in Germany, Russia, China, or Cuba could happen there either. They are no where close to that right now, but the Nazi's, Russian Communists, and Maoists were all a small minority as well in the beginning. When you are complacent that's when you lose your freedoms.

What has been happening in our colleges and universities has now spilled out into the wider culture as it was destined to do. These people that are radical leftists are going to be in positions of power. Look at the outsized power a socialist like AOC has or the employees of the NY Times that got the head of the editorial board fired for simply printing the op. ed. of a sitting US Senator.

You haven't convinced me to fear them more than the far right fringe, which is far better organized...

Its ironic that you type all of this out about "control the narrative in public and private through intimidation." a few days after the president of the United States effectively turned VoA into a mouthpiece for his campaign.

Trump and Steve Bannon want to turn a US-funded global media network into Breitbart 2.0

While I do think there are chances of Civil War within the next ten-fifteen years (due to the fringes of both sides as well as the general hatred fostered in our mainstream politics) it is funny to me how you are all in on Antifa/left while completely ignoring the groups on the right that are actively attempting to stir up a race/civil war using these protests as cover. If anything those groups on the right are clamoring for it way more & spending more effort trying to kickstart it.

not only that, groups on the right have killed (and attempted to kill) a lot of folks, including leo's.

funny you never hear the blue lives matter folks talking about those instances.

That’s some of what I was referring to with the kickstarting it but should have been more clear.

They have paid attention to the tactics of ISIS & insurgents in Iraq in how you foment chaos that you exploit for your goals (although Hitler used a similar playbook as well so they get the tingles about that).

Don't forget that the far right have a man in the White House whom they think agrees with them in all respects. I'm far more worried about the right wingers in the White House trying to hold onto power illegally than I am about Antifa taking over the country...

Don’t think that by seeing the danger of the far left I’m supporting Trump. I’m not a fan of his. I wish the major parties had a candidate I could actually want to vote for. I’ve never voted for a presidential candidate in my lifetime. I’ve voted against someone. It’s always the lesser of the two evils and both the lesser and greater evils keep getting worse.

You don’t have to have ever seen CNN to consider the possibility. You can go just by his own words.
I’m gonna bow out of this thread. This is just like every other online interaction when it comes to these types of subjects. It does no good and everyone just entrenched in their own beliefs. Peace out guys and Roll Tide!
