I actually think that's the only time I've seen this done..Pretty cool play & pretty simple if the kick return team is asleep at the wheel..

Let's be glad LSU didn't figure this out while Brad Wing was there. I play Aussie Rules in Atlanta, and any one of the Australians who grew up playing could make that kick 10 times out of 10.

Dont hold me to this but I am pretty sure the ball does not have to stay in the air and the Punter could have bounced it over and the play still count. Checking on the rule to verify this. But if this is the case kicking is not a bad choice if the punter has good directional control.

I think the entire point of kicking it is to keeping the return team thinking that he will be "punting" instead of throwing a pass.
