A word from a Hog fan

First of all, congrats to you all on your Western Division Title. I have never been on a Bama board, but I wanted to share something with all of you. It is about Leigh Tiffin. I remember just a few years ago walking out of Razorback Stadium feeling guilty over an OT win. Tiffiin absolutely self-destructed that day. I remember walking out thinking it was a shame that a kid, a freshman, an Alabama legacy following in his father's footsteps, had really hurt his team. I didn't know if the would ever get over it. We are all fans of our respective schools, but we sometimes forget we live and die by what 18 - 23 year olds do on Saturdays. I was very happy to see Tiffin play well this past saturday and set the Alabama scoring record. Seeing him set the record is what college football is all about. Kids overcoming tough situations and excelling. I just wanted to let all of the Tide fans know that I congradulate Tiffin and wish you guys the best on your way to the BCS championship. I will always first say GO HOGS, but during the post season I may sneek in a few ROLL TIDES!! Good luck and God bless.

Leigh Tiffin has come a long way. He may very well win the Lou Groza Award this season, as no kicker is having a better season.

Awesome post, Jeff. I am so proud for Leigh I could burst. He is a class kid and a great (possibly Groza-winning) kicker and we are blessed to have him. He's a long way from that day in Fayetteville and I have often wondered (and worried) if he ever got that far away from that day in his head. I certainly hope so, and based on how he's playing I believe so.

Thanks again. Congrats on beating the hog snot out of the Fightin' Spurriers.

Nice to hear good words from a respected adversary. Come back and see us. We treat fans of other schools with hospitality and respect here. It's not a 'smack' board, and smack posters don't last long. Guys like you tend to come back and talk football.

Leigh deserves the accolades. He's worked hard to overcome those early inconsistencies. He has proven to be solid and dependable and we have several victories this season we wouldn't have had were it not for his efforts.

Leigh has silenced his critics to put it mildly and is quietly having a superb season. Like others, I enjoy seeing him overcome his earlier struggles and show what he's made of.
Your Hogs seem to be getting better and hope to see you guys finish strong. The Razorbacks are one of the very few teams I pull for except when playing the Tide, of course.

Thanks for the post. I am very happy for Leigh and the way he has developed in to a VERY good kicker for the Tide. Those shaky days are way behind him, as he has become so automatic that I usually just take for granted that he will make every kick. He has followed in his fathers footsteps while making his own marks in Bama history.
