Aaron Suttles arrested in human trafficking bust

So if I am reading this correctly, and I am old and it is early in the morning, this is not saying that he was - for example - Running a trafficking ring where he was to put it politely the pimp.

It appears he tried to purchase a little action and instead of it being a worker it was undercover sting. In that sense, it is a bit of a click bait headline. The average person sees it, and just notices the name and the term “trafficking.”

Btw - and I’m not in any way defending “Not So Subtle” - the cop sounding like he dropped in from Victorian England with his comment he doesn’t believe any woman does this because she wants to….he's probably the church deacon whose phone needs to be checked next.

Calling this a “human trafficking operation” is deliberately misleading based on the information released. The men were charged with soliciting prostitution. No evidence has been presented that they trafficked anyone or knowingly dealt with trafficking victims. Police and the press should use the actual charge instead of attaching a much more serious label to it.

The police quote is also ridiculous. Saying that no woman chooses sex work and that there is always some hidden reason is a sweeping claim, not evidence. It talks about adult women as though they have no ability to make their own decisions while conveniently helping police justify the operation.

Prostitution should be decriminalized and regulated like other adult work. Require safe workplace standards, access to health care, and legal protections for workers. That would make everyone safer and make it easier to identify actual coercion and trafficking.

The government should focus on force, abuse, and exploitation, not monitoring consensual sex between adults.

Suttles had a reputation of using “gotcha” type headlines when he wrote. The Stabler family had an interesting post on X late last night. Perhaps this is some type of just desserts from the CW.

He is/was our NIL director for Yea Alabama. I think this will probably be a career killer
That is what is so weird. You have a decent career then throw it away over something like this?
I remember Warren Sapp, after his NFL career, used to be a commentator on ESPN. Then he got arrested over something in Vegas. ESPN let him go.

“My name is Eugene Robinson and even though today I received the Bart Starr award for high moral character and the Falcons play in their first Super Bowl ever tomorrow, I decided to offer an undercover officer $40 for a sexual favor. I did this because like Warren Sapp years from now, I am very cheap. I COULD have spent 5 or 10 times that, got the same thing, and nobody would’ve known. In fact, I think some of my teammates did just exactly that.”

The crazier thing is that 30 miles from Las Vegas prostitution is legal

I saw that news and said to myself, "Dang, Warren, setting aside for the moment the morality, whatever the prostitute was overchanging (assuming that was the issue), pay her. In the long run, it will be worth it to just keep your job."
Better still, avoid consorting with prostitutes in general.

I’m fully aware that it’s difficult to always 100% know another person’s character.

But for me this is yet another huge red flag for the current staff.

I know we’ve had stuff on CNS’s watch too like Sark’s addictions and more on topic Lane’s predilections but in the past we had more green flags than red ones.

Imo we’ve currently had more red flags than green ones with the current staff.

It’s concerning to feel like there is a lack of control.

I think you are making a seismic leap out of a solitary incident.

I think you are making a seismic leap out of a solitary incident.

I’m lumping it in with other situations.

Team Captains throwing tantrums at midfield and kicking football, brawls with AU on National TV, Talty showing his rear after missing a kick.

Nobody ever gets publicly punished or misses playing time.

Lack of effort on gameday from week to week to half to half to qtr to qtr.

For me there is just a lot of on and off the field issues that don’t scream that a tight ship is being run.

That’s jmo the optics aren’t great.

I’ll feel a bit better if/when it’s announced that Suttles has been relieved of his duties post haste.
