Poll: ABC, ESPN, or CBS for the SECCG

I actually like the Musburgler. I would not have so much of a problem with ESPN if they were not constantly yapping about things other than the game. Like food, who's gonna win the heistman, every other freaking team in the country.

I guess I am old school, I yearn for the day when they would just show the game, call the game, not always trying to make out a huge story line for the team that's ahead at the time, trump the same things repeatedly(like Croom's ties to Alabama), Just show other scores at the bottom of the screen, save most of the highlights of other games for halftime. Just the facts mam.

I miss the old Keith Jackson called games I guess.

I'm with you on that one. The networks now use the game only to advertise about other shows, have entertainers jump around and sing, and sell stuff. I know they pay a lot of money to broadcast these events and that they must try to generate revenue, but I certainly miss the days of just watching the dang game without so much hype about other crap.

CBS sucks b/c anyone outside of the United States can't watch the game. Bama vs. MSU was on ESPN international this past weekend and I was able to watch it with a couple MSU fans here in NZ.

Actually, I prefer ABC, but like someone said, CBS has the contract, so it's a moot point. Speaking of moot, it's probably better to "mute" Verne and Gary on the TV, and turn on the radio broadcast.

Gary and Verne, Brent and Kirk or Mike and Todd. It really doesn't matter to me. I kinda like them all. I not that sensitive. I do believe that there are some sportcasters that do not really like Alabama. But I do not think any of these really hate us.:BigA:

It is in fact restricted outside the US. I have a subscription to ESPN gameplan international online which has very good quality and caries many games. Unfortunately CBS nor Fox have anything at all.

My vote is for CBS cause that's where we get the best picture on our TV. Plus, we can mute the TV and the timing between what Eli sees and what we see is not off by much.

I'm with you Capstone. I love watching the old broadcasts with the HOF announcers who didn't need a lot of repetitive fluff, innuendo, etc. They also didn't talk about how great every player was unless he was truly great.

Another thing I'm old school about is all the stupid music that played in the stadium 2 hours before kickoff, through every timeout, etc etc etc. Isn't the GAME enough to entertain??? I absolutely hate going to games (Bama or otherwise) and not being able to talk to the person sitting beside me w/o having to shout over Bootylicious.

I don't understand the game times for the SEC and Big 12 championship games. Why wouldn't the SEC be played at night since its in a dome and the big 12 be played durning the day since its going to be played outside? I know the networks decide the game times but it seems like the offical of the Big 12 conference would help the fans out some because of the cold weather and want the game played during the day.

I just don't want ABC to do it. They seem to have such crazy camera angles to me and alot of times it looks so far away. Doesn't much matter about the broadcasters as most all are terrible nowdays. Oh for a return to the days of the likes of Keith Jackson calling a ballgame.

First...ABC games are exactly the same as ESPN games...just on ABC. Watch the game this Saturday and you will see that it's ESPN...but on ABC. Second...games on ESPN or ABC get a lot more press by those two stations...which is good. Third...I would want to play on ABC so Herbstreit would call our game and have to eat crow as he watched us take the Gators behind the woodshed.

But alas...we are on CBS with Verne (Happy Gilmore) Lundquist and Gary (I wish LSU had beaten Alabama) Danielson. We're undefeated no matter who calls the game...so I'm down with whatever.
