92 has hit it with "herd immunity." For vaccines to be effective for highly infectious diseases, the vaccination rate needs to be very high, around 95% for measles. Measles is so contagious, that the air in a room is considered unsafe for two hours, after someone with measles has only breathed in it. Fomite (surface) contamination lasts even longer. That is the reason for mandatory childhood vaccination. There are have always been safeguards allowing leniency for kids like CA's, and always will be, with doctor's excuse. Otherwise, it simply can't be a matter of personal choice, when that choice may endanger thousands of others. My freedom ends exactly where it starts to impinge on endangering yours...

When I started school in Alabama, my doctor gave me a waiver for the tetanus vaccine due to a bad reaction I had as a toddler.

This is the core issue with pure capitalism. It has no safety net. If you hit rock bottom, you might be truly on your own with no reasonable way to recover (especially for children).

Many don't know she also had a beachfront home south of St. Augustine. She and Hemingway met for the first time at a bar south of St. Augustine.

The story has been told often that Rawlings recognized Hemingway and had the bartender give him a note. "Are you Hemingway?" He wrote back, “Only if you’re Rawlings.”

Police in Port St. Lucie, Florida, were called to a bar after a disagreement over chickens led to shots being fired and several arrests.

WPTV said it happened at about 2:48 a.m. on Nov. 4 in a bar’s parking lot after the business had closed for the night.

“There was a conversation about how many, I kid you not, how many eggs a chicken can lay. And that conversation got a little heated, and as it went out into the parking lot, the conversation continued, and the shooter became agitated, became paranoid,” Sgt. Dominick Mesiti said.

Florida Attorney General questions Pensacola drag show near Christmas​

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has sent a letter to the Pensacola City Council over a drag show taking place at the Saenger Theatre two days before Christmas.

According to Uthmeier, “A Drag Queen Christmas” makes fun of a holiday that is sacred to Christians.

“It has been referred to as part of the ‘Naughty Tour,’ where men masquerading as women claim to put the ‘Ho Ho Ho Into The Holidays’,” read the letter.

The letter cites the contract between the city and the management company, Legends Global, stating that the city has the right to cancel the event for a variety of reasons.

However, city officials said they did not see the event as a risk to the public.

“While the First Amendment safeguards freedom of expression, it does not require a city to platform and endorse disgusting, obscene content that denigrates its residents’ religious beliefs,” Uthmeier said.
