“Alabama’s conservative and cultural values are under attack from every direction,” McCarron said. “That’s why Charlie Kirk’s assassination affected so many of us so deeply.

“His example convinced me to get off the sidelines and get into the game and stand tall for our conservative beliefs.

Sounds like another MAGA politician. If he wins, he will likely become governor in 2035 after Tubby’s two terms.

probably easier than opening an insurance agency or car dealership /s

If he works it right and is able to stay in the system, he'll be uber rich with a lifetime pension. Still amazes me how so many people enter politics in one tax bracket and somehow end up jumping up multiple tax brackets with generational wealth. Funny how that works.

He's got all the lies and buzzwords that appeal to the ignorant Trump cult. McCarron might or might not be a member, but he seems to know what to say. His mother certainly is a Trumper.

i'm always curious who in these deep red states is attacking the "conservative and cultural values" and what is the nature of said attack.

alabama has been extremely wingnutty for a long time, so is the phone call coming from inside the house?

It's quite melodramatic. “Under attack from every direction”? Please. Alabama’s one of the most conservative states in the country - Republicans run everything from the governor’s office to the school boards. Nobody’s storming Tuscaloosa to confiscate Bibles.

And those “values” they’re clutching? Maybe if they weren’t built around controlling what everyone else does or believes, they wouldn’t feel so “under attack.” When your morality depends on policing, judging, and controlling others, criticism starts to look like persecution.

i'm really impressed at the maga bro's drama and over-exaggeration manipulation skills. and i say that as the dad of a teenage daughter.

Why is it people like you have to resort to name calling? That behavior seems ignorant to me. And I've heard no lies or "buzzwords"! I believe McCarron will do an excellent job.

Name calling? Like “ignorant,” “cult member,” or “Trumper”? Because I feel that those terms are accurate for those groups and can back it up with examples if you like. Note that I didn’t single anyone out in those descriptors (other than DeeDee, who has made it known that she enthusiastically supports Trump).

Claims that “conservative cultural values” are “under attack from all sides” is a common and deliberate misstatement used by certain politicians to incite their base and justify their actions. I’m happy to provide examples of that as well.

I’ve never used a derogatory term to describe a poster here by name and I’ve certainly never referred to a poster’s actions/words as ignorant. I’d be happy to debate and discuss our political differences here in a reasoned and rational way. I’m interested in hearing why you think McCarron would do an excellent job.
