He is also a partner in Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm that finances ventures in information technology, the energy and greentech industries, utilities, life sciences research and pharmaceuticals.
He founded and personally finances the Alliance for Climate Protection, a global political/educational/awareness group whose stated mission is "to reveal the complete truth about the climate crisis in a way that ignites the moral courage in each of us."
