Alabama 2025 SEC regular season champion

But it’s not 1991 and the SEC regular season champion is the winner of the SECCG. To claim otherwise sounds too Barn-like for my taste. But if the SECCG is eliminated (and it should be IMO) then I’m right there with you.
I’m not saying hang a banner. I’m saying it needs to be considered in ranking this team. Without divisions, there is now a clear winner of the conference in the regular season. The “championship game” is now clearly a money grab.

All the tiebreaker rules are dumb. I am still trying to figure out why texas 8&4 isn't playing in the SEC Championship game.

The ACC is even dumber since it put Duke in. This makes no sense at all.

But the MAC really takes the cake because it put Miami, Ohio in theirs. If you don't know, they lost to both teams that they are tied with. Make this make sense.

Yes they are. I don't think the SEC is as bad as the others. But yeah when you've got 16 teams and only play 8 conference games, this is the mess you end up with. But this is nothing new for the SEC. As a 10 team league, it played only 6 conference games until the late 1980s when it went to 7. This resulted in several ties for the league title over those years. And it even allowed for the Sugar Bowl to take both Alabama and Ole Miss one year. Seems like it was 1962, maybe. They did not play one another during the regular season.

Going to 9 conference games will help this issue, even if it hurts the SEC in other ways.

It is because it is a 4 way tie and not all 4 teams played each other, so it came down to conference opponent win percentage. Basically, who played the toughest conference schedule. TAMU actually fell to #4 in the conference with their loss to Texas because they played a weak SEC schedule. In fact, based on my Googling, they played the weakest SEC schedule this year.

Conference opponent win percentage:
  1. Alabama - .500
  2. UGA - .469
  3. Ole Miss - .344
  4. TAMU - .281
