You'll find your answer if you look up his stats on ESPN.Is Oats bringing him in to impact the game in the paint, or is he just going to camp at the 3 point line and be useless for inside scoring?
Are you talking about Garrison? He has 3 years of college ball since high school. The guy was a Top 50 recruit.
He scored 8+ points 6 times last year in 36 games. 2 of the games were there first two games of season vs. Nicholas State and Valparaiso who they beat by a combined 74 points. He got 8+ rebounds in 2 game all season. 1 vs Loyola Maryland who they beat by 42. He got 7 of those rebounds the last 12 minutes of the game in which they were leading 66-24. So he basically never did that unless it was in garbage time. If your expecting that from him much at all your most likely going to be disappointed all season waiting for that.We don’t need scorers around the rim. We need somebody that can get 8 to 12 points some nights and grab 8 to 10 boards some nights. We are going to have guys all over the place in the 6’5”-6’9” range.
What we need are two more ball handlers. And one more big around 6’ 10” that’s got some bulk.
I know everyone thinks we have to have thug ball like everybody else, I just don’t think we do. We just need some guys down low with a decent motor. That’s not afraid to dunk the ball.
I am thinking more Mohamed Wague. Both 6-10 with some strength and size. Neither has much offensive skill and not a threat at all from the outside. They both were guys that have some experience playing in power 5 conferences so you have more idea what you will get. Williamson was more of a question mark because of competition and his lack of foot speed and agility was very evident all year. It isn’t a terrible signing but we need the other guys we bring in to be more consistent and help us keep that high level of play we have had for few years.Noah Williamson 2.0?
Yep. Sounds like Nick Pringle numbers. I think people will be surprised at how he fits the system. He’s not Noah.He scored 8+ points 6 times last year in 36 games.
