The SEC may have looked down this year, but we had two teams that went 8-0 that effected the rest of the leagues records. How often does that happen
in a league........never?

I still think Auby should be no higher than the former Peach Bowl. The Bowls are really strange this year due to all the 7-5 records.

The only reason Malzonne won't get a HC gig is because of his public speaking skills. He is the reason for their improvement imo.
Apparently, agreeing to purchase 30,000 tickets was a good way to move up in the bowl pecking order.

:BigA: Yeah, that just baffles my mind how they voted those two are not voting fair at all. How can you say Texas should be #1? :conf2: First off Texas beat rank #21 not rank #1. Alabama beat rank #1 with #2 ranking but those two idiots are saying Texas should jump Alabama? These 2 idiots should be removed from the polls voting it just shows there trying to screw Alabama. We whipped Florida while Texas barely won by a 1 second. RTR! :BigA:

I haven't studied this in any great detail, but I assume these guys previously voted TX #2 and Bama #3, and since both won yesterday, they each got bumped up one spot due to Florida's loss.

I'm not surprised that Scott Wolf, who voted Texas #1, is on the "Extreme Voters" list.
This is exactly why we need a playoff sysem of some sort.
How can anyone vote Texas #1 after that fixed game last night. I mean it took the officials to give the game to texas, they didn't earn anything.

Everyone I have talked to thinks we steamroll Texas. I think it will be a great game but I think we are too talented and too determined.

#1

And we now know that Bama earned it.

It's such a sweet, sweet thing to see.

Shame on Bob Asmussen and Scott Wolf for giving Texas number one votes. They do not deserve a single number one vote as they have not earned it.
I hope, as a BAma fan, that you are aware of the irony of that statement. In 1992, I think people ridiculed the only guy who kept voting for Bama as the number one team. That is, of course, until we won the title by whipping the 'Canes in the Sugar Bowl. Texas plays in arguably the second toughest conference in the land and went undefeated. They haven't always looked great, but they have always won. I don't really think we looked very good when we had to block two field goals against a very average UT team. I hope our players give them a little more respect than you, or we will look like the Hurricanes did in January of 1993 or like the Gators did yesterday. Our work isn't done. Roll Tide.

I understand your point. I think there are things about each team that can be picked apart. However, Texas did not beat the number one team in the country last night by 19 points. If you are #2 and you beat #1, shouldn't you move up to #1? Yes, Bama did, but what if everyone voted like the other two guys?

I will also have to argue with you that just because I said Texas has not earned the number one spot doesn't mean that I don't respect them as a team. That was a bit . I can understand if I said "What?! Texas is a crappy, horrible team." But, I did not do that. I said what I said for exactly the reason that I stated above.

I also will have to let you know that I'm too young to remember anything about 1992 other than that I started the first grade that year. :rolleye2:

How did Boise State work out 13 regular season games?
I do not know why, but the NCAA allows teams to add a game if they travel to Hawaii. I heard that on one of their weeknight games.
