Alabama players - Gang hand signs?

What was it at the end/sign-off of the Ala-Miss All-Star game after the Alabama team won. A lot of the players from Alabama huddled together and were flashing what appeared to be a gang sign to the TV cameras.

Thumb holding down the ring finger... does anyone have any idea what this means?

Please clue me in! It just looked classless to me. I really hope this does not catch on, no matter which school these players choose.

We11 let's see, 1st were all their other fingers out? If so it makes an E for East since Alabama's East of Mississippi, or it says 3 was it the 3rd time Alabama won? Just some thoughts.

I didn't see it, but if it was what you described, it isn't a gang sign. Since this is a family board, I won't go into details, but you can find more information at collegehumor.com.

It's not a gang sign, but its not really fit to discuss on the board.

"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

There are more important things in life than Alabama football, but I can count them on one hand.

it would be a shock if they were gang signs

I am afraid you are SO right. If we brought in Bill Walsh to coach the Offense we would still have JC at QB. You can't polish a turd.

That is also my sorority sign, a rap labels hand sign (The INC...Ja Rule/Ashanti), and in New York it represents the letter "E" for eastside. When the hand is pointing down it is also used to represent the letter "M" for Mississippi. You're right, I also believe in this case it was used to represent the eastside(AL). Nothing more then a silent representation of where you are from that's all.

Wait I saw a Bama recruit wearing a bandana, he must be in a gang!

Get real people. Let's talk about something more constructive rather than if a player shows a hand sign or not and what it could mean.

This may be a dumb question but if you are clueless to what the gesture means why would you assume it is symbolic of a gang or gang-related? Just my curiosity.
