I could be bad wrong, but all TS has to do is get the ball out on time to run this offense.

In his very limited time last year, he showed he had command over the short routes.

For him it's a matter of getting in sync with the receivers and getting the ball to them on time, which JM could not consistently do, being late with almost every throw!

As I understand it, Grubb designs passing plays to be run with proper timing. With this receiving core, I think TS will eat all year long!

JM needed guys to be running in open spaces to get them the ball. I think the contrast will be huge with TS. I think we'll see some big passing plays that are simply the result of hitting a receiver in space on time! Such a novel concept!
I expect Simpson to look more like Mac Jones, than Jalen Milroe. Not saying as good as Mac, but look similar.

I think he's more of a hybrid between those two.

He'll be a better/more accurate passer than JM, especially on short, timing routes. But he's also a ton more mobile than Mac Jones. I mean, there is really no comparison in terms of their mobility. If TS can only get into the neighborhood of MJ's passing accuracy/ability, we will be a lot better than some critics think.

He’s got some of the early Career Mac ‘Dawg’ in him. Super Competitive by nature but has better self control now.

Talent wise I see AJ wrt to his passing ability but with the mobility and elusiveness of Manziel/Bryce.

If Ty plays within himself and has developed a short memory to move on from a bad play then I think he will have a Monster season.

Yeah, we know he's got wheels. Remember the scramble to the end zone when he dropped the ball at the 1 yard line?

I'd bet alot a money he won't ever do that again. He'll probably hold on to it as he runs into the tunnel like Forrest Gump!

I'll admit I've always thought TS had the talent to play. I'll never understand what happened the last two years (especially why he was never given a shot when "you know who" struggled with basic concepts) but now that he's got his shot I believe he'll do well.

I figure there will be some growing pains. Wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't have a mid-season slump game, but with his maturity in the program, if he does, he'll bounce back strong.

If we get into the playoffs, I expect him to look like a seasoned QB running this offense by then!

We're going to be doing something a little different with our typical 2025 Alabama Preview article. It's now an eight-parter with some more in-depth looks at the personnel in each position group. Kicking it off, of course, are the QBs.

I think it's pretty obvious that Sometimes Milroe was great, but sometimes he was very bad. We never knew which guy would show up. Coaches failed to note the difference. If the coaches knew about the problem and failed to address it, we had a problem with the coach. (Hurt to say that)
