Phares is settling in pretty well, as LSU goes 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 5th.

Now if we can just stop leaving half of China on base...

Going to the top of the sixth, we are tied 4-4.

Softball continues to do well.

After four innings, 'Bama leads LSU 5-0. Hopefully we can mercy-rule them again today.

Bentley pops out to start the inning.

Yet another pitching change for LSU... they better be glad they have TOPS to finance a pitching staff that deep. At this rate, I'm going to start calling Mainieri by the name of Spurrier with the way he is going through pitchers.

All of these pitching changes are making this game slow. We are only in the top of the sixth and have been playing for over two hours now.

Wilson finally comes through with a big hit... doubles to left and we have a fast runner on second with one out.

Come on guys, let's take the lead.

Avila hits it hard, but right at someone, and that will end the inning.

Going to the bottom of the sixth, Alabama leads LSU 7-4.

And now that the offense has come around, Phares decides he will melt down.

A single starts things, then a walk. LSU then hits a double, cutting the lead to 7-5. Runners on second and third with no outs.

Not good. Kebodeaux comes in to pitch.

Big strikeout for Kebodeaux on the first batter he faces, but he's still in one heck of a jam. Tying run at second, only one out.

Sacrifice grounder for the Bayou Bengals, and they will cut the lead to 7-6.

Runner on third, two outs.

Either way, this has been a huge inning for LSU.

A walk from Kebodeaux, runners on first and third, two out.

Make no mistake about it, this is a huge at-bat right here.

Again, the inability to play fundamental baseball...

A wild pitch scores the tying run.

7-7, runner at second, two outs.

We got the three run lead, and respond with two walks and a wild pitch in the bottom half. I'll never get it folks.

Finally, a groundout ends the inning, but nevertheless we absolutely waste all of the production at the top half of the inning. It doesn't do you any good to score runs in the top half if you are going to p*ss it all away with incompetence in the bottom half.

Kebodeaux didn't do a bad job in relief, but he didn't do all that well either. The wild pitch let LSU tie this thing up.

Let's just hope we have a little offensive firepower left in us.

Things are looking great for softball though.

Morgan just crushed another home run, and we lead the Tigers 8-1. The sweep is all but guaranteed at this point.

Dare I say our ladies have eaten the Corndogs for lunch?

May must have gotten some lessons from the ladies, because he's eating Corndogs for lunch too. He singles to lead off the top of the seventh, and he's now 4-4 on the day.
