One thing we need to do is get physically stronger during the offseason. I'm looking at you Dazon Ingram, Donta Hall, John Petty, Alex Reese, Herbert Jones. I'm so tired of us driving into traffic and being too weak to finish the play.

Were I coach I would forbid a 3 point shot and have them drive every time. Try to draw fouls and hit easy shots. If the effort fell I'd put in the walk-ons. Have to play hard no matter what. These lazy half-cocked 3 pointers are killing me.

It has been a consistent problem for a couple of decades now.
How about 5 decades. CM's teams were the worst - usually from 61-67%. Wimp had a couple of decent FT shooting teams and Gottfried had a couple. But that's what you get when you get BB athletes vs BB players. Part of it is that this state, the South in general, produces BB athletes, not as many skilled shooters and passers (yes, there are exceptions: Whatley, Coner, etc.). Especially, in the rural South. This team is about avg for Bama in the last 50 years. Bama's SEC % was above avg, ~70%.

I’m sure Sexton is gone....but if we can recruit another two wing shooters....next year could be fun
Our signees are a PG (Butler), SG (Woods), and a C/PF (Fleming). Woods is a shooter but I suspect he'll need a redshirt year. Unless we lose someone unexpectedly we don't have another opening to recruit and sign anyone else.

It is not a priority in recruiting. Never has been. We have gone after athletes for years. Not fundamentally sounds players. I honestly would love to see it change. We give away 8-10 points every game because of it.
We have had decent shooters who still couldn't hit FTs. The answer is obvious - we just don't practice them to the point where they are automatic. I don't care what Avery says, we just don't...

Don’t kid yourself. There’s no defense against what Nova is doing right now. They’d be killing anybody. This is what a 1 seed is supposed to look like.
It always seemed like the other team would have a career 3 night when we played on the road.

Marshall’s coach ripped a reporter yesterday about asking why they shoot so many 3s. Makes more sense to shoot 3s when he explained it.

Yes, I'm old enough to call it a 50 year problem...
