Why?

I forsee, without their big DL, having a hard time stopping the Tide ground game. At first the game will be close, but as the UT DL gets tired, those 3-4 yard runs will turn into 7-8 yard runs. They may have depth, but their second stringers are not really a match for the Tide OL and stable of Backs.

As for their offense, I don't see Ainge doing so hot with 4 OL hampered by injuries. I think Gilberry's going to possibly double his sack total. Don't be surprised if it's UT that gets turned into a one-dimensional team, and is forced to throw against the best pass D in the SEC.

I guarantee you that at least one bad call will go UT's way, and I also guarantee that UT will make an alleged 'clean hit' on one of Bama's skill players. In '99, it was two shots below the knee--one on Shaun Alexander, the other on Andrew Zow. In 2001, it was two repeated attempts to injure Tyler Watts, one clear shot to the upper body on a pass play; and a few plays later UT gets flagged 15 yards for a late hit on Tyler. In 2002, it was a late hit out of bounds on Santonio Beard. We all know what happened last year...

It'll be a low scoring, physical affair and I think Bama comes out on top this time. Why? because of rushing play execution, flawless special teams and one defensive TD. Pennington doesn't need 100+ throwing the ball. As long as he hits receivers in key second and third down situations, we'll move the chains and let our hosses up front control the line of scrimmage.

Skrayper is dead-on. UT is a crippled team which more than offsets their talent edge. Add to that the DB suspension/distraction. Plus I heard that Knoxville was low in dounut batter.

Bama wins 21 - 17.

But then we get called for a personal foul or holding. If you think BAMA wins a close one up there, you are going to be disappointed.
Dang BabyRay... Aren't you just that ray of sunshine (heavy sacarsm)??? Ya gotta believe! Its an SEC game and it will be a War. Maybe the refs call a few their way.... I truly believe that this team will persevere despite all of the cards being stacked against them. I see the glass as half full!!!!!!!

This game will tell a lot about our program and where it stands. Unfortunately, it may not be pretty...

42-6?

Dude... UT has scored 42 points twice this year, once against hapless UNLV, once against almost as bad La. Tech. They could only score 21 against Ole Miss, a team we beat like stepchildren.

Anything can happen, and UT might beat Bama... but there's no way that team hangs 42 points against the #3 defense in the country, and one of the best offensive line/offensive backfield tandem's in the country.

Who is hurt for UT? I've heard it mentioned on here that they could be without a couple on the DL and 1 or 2 on the OL. Got any details? Thanks.

I see this to be a defensive game. We have the #3 Total Defense in America and the #1 Passing Defense. I think we continue to run a lot and play keep away from the Tennesse offense.

I never predict scores, but if Bama has knocked one of the two starting QB's out of the game by the half we might be ok.

Dispite the call for more passing Its all about our running game, The passing is just a diversion. but a few more diversions will probably be needed than against Ky and SoMiss.

We must win the turnover battle.

We'll control the ball with the run and hold them with the defense that's confuse a freshman quaterback. Now if we can just find a few more guns. Anyone wonder shy so many Tenn players carry guns?

We keep it a low scoring game early, but Bama defense gets tired due to our offense having trouble moving the ball! Ut pulls away in the middle of the third Qtr and never looks back. Sorry guys...we need Brodie for this game.
