Sad to see that happened to Jalston. I was very excited to see the variety of ways we'd utilize him. He's probably our most versatile RB. His loss will limit some of the versatility that was evidently going to be a major part of our offense (as it always has been) in terms of offensive sets. Jalston could be the FB in the I, catch out of the backfield from that position or be a workhorse running back, and block his butt off. But his loss shouldn't have a significant affect on the execution of our offense utilizing the other 2 backs that were above him in the depth chart in the sets that don't include 2 backs (and there are a lot).

Losing Fowler may take away a special aspect of what we can do on offense, but this team is so stacked and well coached, and luckily with the fact that we are more than comfortable playing without a fullback...already prepared to move forward and continue with what probably still will be maybe the most special offense in the Saban error. IF Folwer has to take medical hardship, then I know he'll be a big part of the next team that makes a run for a NC.

I really hate injuries, but especially in games like these. But there's nothing you can do about it. The games on the schedule, gotta play it

Everybody has loved Jalston coming in and pounding teams late in games for years now (including last week), but now Saban has had a lapse of judgement because he got hurt? SMH:rolleyes:
Shrug it off. Football is a violent game, and try as we may, there is always the possibility that someone can get hurt. The Tulane player is a very sad example, but an example nonetheless. Fowler is but one more example. Football players can and do get hurt.
Every year though, there is always someone ready to put the blame on a single individual.
Some people just forgets to engage their brains before putting their keyboards into action.

I know he plays other roles... but he is still, at least in execution the third string RB. I never said just. But, you don't not use someone like that for fear of injuring them...
That didn't come across like I meant it to. I was saying I agreed with you about him being in the game and that he should have been in there as part of the rb rotation. I meant you were wrong as far as what all he could do. I think we're on the same page, but sometimes I can't get my point across.

Just a reminder...CNS is no rookie coach and neither are the assistants. The man is a master planner and organizer. I am sure he is ready to adjust and will. He will coach them up next week and they will be ready. I heard his post-game comments and he did not seem too upset. He was very matter of fact and he will make sure everything will be handled for next week. There is a reason he is the best and we will see why next week.

Our job is to get behind the team and support them and be ready also next week. He made a specific point to recognize the fans in his comments...so we better be ready!

And by the way... I'm looking around the country and no one else looks that great right now. Even with today's game, LSU is still the only team that I see that might be truly better than BAMA. But that's a stretch, to be quite honest.

Yes Arkansas is not a sure win at all. A couple of other games might be dicey. But that was always going to be the case.

Still remember 1997-2006. Still enjoying the heck out of this run we are on.

i really wonder why if someone is trying to project constructive criticism, that person is labelled a non-alabama fan. i hve enjoyed this site all during the dubose, shula, franchone, and saban eras. i lived thru the terrible probation years, and i never criticized the players, because we were playing without a COMPLETE team, thanks to the ncaa. i love this bama team as well as all the teams since saban came to town. his teams are pro type teams, and find a way to win. this game was one of those times that most teams experience a
bad performance. probably due to over confindence, game plan, vanilla game plan options. but, my concern has been the lack of blocking from the outside, whenever a.j. drops back in passing formation. we have no blocking off the edge from either side. even in the michigan game, a.j. was getting dumped a lot. this was the worst. it worries me that we only have 5 days to correct a serious problem against a good arks team. just think, if it wasnt for 4 turnovers, this game could hve been really close. western kentucky played with a lot of energy at our place. we cant allow that. like coach said many times, our guys need to learn in a hurry, and the time is now with the arks game looming. no matter what, i will pull for my team every game, every season.we hve a lot of talent, and the coach and his staff, will develop it.

I don't remember anyone being labeled as a non Bama fan. There's a difference in constructive criticism and just plain downing the team. RTR

Turnovers are part of the game; indeed, that's one of the primary goals of the defense.. Moreover, those are turnovers we caused - they weren't the result of bad play on the part of WKU.

I see you decided to save up your caps and use them all in one word.:)

Those turnovers that we forced didn't cause the 4 TD passes by AJ. Those turnovers didn't come when they were in the red zone and threatening. So I don't see how it translates into a much closer game without them.

How do you prevent an opponent from playing with energy?

I enjoyed the heck out of this game.

I had no idea we played so poorly until I read a few posts in this thread. Just be glad you're not a barn fan right now.

I think I'll use my own judgment in grading the team and give them an A+.

Haven't seen anyone labeled a non bama fan because of constructive criticism. I think people aren't patient enough to realize that what we see the coaches see. We're in game two with some issues. No biggie. We won and from what I've seen Arkansas' defense ain't real swuft, if you no what I mean. So though we've got issues Arkansas and every team I've watched today has plenty as well.

Do you guys think it might also be Saban playing it close to the vest? I would'nt imagine us showing everything in a game like this, however it seems they do have some things for us to work on. My worry was the 6 sacks in the game what was with that?

The more I think about today's game, while we played a bit sloppy, we beat a solid team. WKU has been playing well dating back to last year (gave LSU fits). They routed Austin Peay last week 49-10. As a point of reference, #15 Virginia Tech beat them today 42-7.

Also, anyone who watched USC today can tell you to step back from the ledge.
