There's a woman running for Chief Justice at the moment. Her ads emphasize her qualifications as having been a trial judge handing out stiff sentences to criminal defendants. Those are hardly qualifications for Chief Justice...

he University of Alabama at Birmingham health system is pausing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment following an Alabama Supreme Court ruling that found frozen embryos are children, the health system said in a statement to CNN.

The decision makes UAB the first known organization in the state to confirm it is pausing the treatment.

Its announcement could be the start of what reproductive rights advocates and medical experts have been warning about for days: that the high court’s decision could have devastating consequences for Alabamians seeking infertility treatments each year to build their families – and it could soon have profound impacts far beyond the state’s borders.

I think you could randomly wave someone down on the highway and they might be more qualified than the current guy.

This guy posted a link to the opinion. It's nonsense, and reads more like a church sermon transcript.

Yesterday Halley stepped in it saying she thinks embryos are people too. The next day she tried to clean it up by saying the embryos belong to the parents and they should decide what to do with them.

is she giving her approval to murder all these unwanted embryos?

Which is it Haley?

She's having a difficult time deciding how to pander to both sides while not looking like a hypocrite for using IVF herself resulting in the dustruction of embryos.

They are more willing to protect frozen embryos than nearly full grown gay and trans kids.

“Human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God,” he wrote in a concurring opinion that invoked the Book of Genesis and the prophet Jeremiah and quoted at length from the writings of 16th- and 17th-century theologians.

IOW, strong enough to withstand a SCOTUS appeal.

These politicians know their audience. Honest question; does one have to have any law degree / experience to be a Justice of the Supreme Court in Alabama?
