the police report authored by Tuscaloosa Police officer Derek Kilgore and the surveillance video taken from four angles at The Legacy that night offer different accounts
Gee, whom to believe?

One of the issues being considered, Swords said, is that the police report authored by Tuscaloosa Police officer Derek Kilgore and the surveillance video taken from four angles at The Legacy that night offer different accounts.
Now why does this raise the hackles on the back of my neck?!?!?!?

Speculates that RJ will get a little community service . I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with nothing more than just an agreement not to return the establishment .

whew, thatd be great. that would be best for both RJ and the Legacy. it would keep rj out of trouble, and maybe CNS might even ban everyone from the legacy, but i doubt he'll have any kind of banning like that.

Now that is something I can't believe the "authorities" are willing to admit. Seriously.......are there TPD officers who are "hunting" players? Makes me think so...because if it is worth mentioning that there is a discrepancy, then the report must be seriously off-base.

Sounds to me like they are trying to let RJ off with a wrist slap because the TPD screwed up! The classic "sweep it under the rug" routine.

You had me scared there for a minute. When you said "dismissal". I thought you meant from the team...you might want to edit the title of your thread and insert "of charges" in there....:)

That was the deal I once made . :( Maybe some of the guys will just ban themselves for a while .

I sure am glad Coach Saban has a pair of brass ones! He never once threw RJ under the bus despite media pressure and pressure from others.

This is further indication he is the right man to be the head coach at Bama.

NO ONE is going to PRESSURE him to do ANYTHING!

So it appears Freddie Roach was dead on with his analysis of the incident. I wonder how many front page apologies we'll see from the "UNBIASED Reporters" that were so quick to bash Rashad.

Re: Alabama's Johnson offered dismissal with conditions

OK let's not jump on the TPD too quick. While it's true it sure looks like they want this to go away very quickly and an officer may have shaded things a little, let's don't start thinking their a bunch of Barner plants. That kind of sounds like UCheat or Barner type paranoia. The University may have shot themselves in the foot on this. They have been after the city to "clean up" the strip. If that's the goal I can see a low tolerance for trouble and a bit too much enthusiasm on the part of the police. Although I think Johnson needs to stick in there for a complete walk.

Can you imagine how this will effect the players and their loyalty to their coach?
Man, these guys will low crawl through half a mile of broken glass for a coach who will back them up when wrongly accused.
(Not to mention it just being the right thing to do for its own sake.)

Touché, Coach Saban!

Re: Alabama's Johnson offered dismissal of charges with conditions

The fact that the charge is conditionally being dismissed has absolutely nothing to do with the Tuscaloosa Police just wanting the case to go away, or anything else for that matter. Usually people who are first offenders with class C misdemeanors are eligible for dismissal pending things like community service or attendance of court approved classes. For the most part, the only time prosecutors in these kinds of low grade cases aren't willing to grant some kind of dismissal is when there are some aggravating circumstances. From what it looks like, Rashad Johnson was offered the same kind of deal that any first offender would have been offered a similar situation.
