Not sure who wrote the article but this depth chart is way off. Our second string “Y” tight end won’t be a walk-on former offensive lineman in Jaydon Hobson.

Next they have Wilkin Formby as backup LT. He didn’t play any LT during spring with all of the injuries. Olaus played there in Proctor’s place.

LG is between Dewberry and Vandermark. I wouldn’t put any stock into this article. Also no offense to the original poster it isn’t your fault this thing is so off.

I mean, yes…ultimately it is his fault. He let team politics determine the QB, and thought he could go out with one last title. It didn’t work out for him or us.
Personally, aside from the obvious mistakes the writer makes with certain names in certain spots, I like the roster a ton.

As for success next season, I'll be disappointed if we aren't in the playoffs. And I want to beat Vandy. Not just beat them. I want 66-0. That will make it their worst loss ever, eclipsing their 65-0 loss to the Viles in 1994. And I'd really like for Pavia to actually cry when it's over.

"The lack of departures is an encouraging sign for the Crimson Tide as Deboer enters his second year and allows us to project what the depth chart will look like ahead to fall camp." - article

We didn't have an A-Day game to get an idea of what the depth chart might look like this year. Once we get into Fall Practice, we'll have a better idea of positions. He had Russaw ahead of Latham. And that may be the case, as Russaw had worked hard and looks good. It's definitely a way too early depth chart. It does need some tweaking.

Well, Russaw was the starter last season until he was injured, and was able to come back and play a good bit even though never really close to 100%, and Latham is changing positions into a role that he has very limited experience playing, so it kinda makes sense.

I think the rotation will be such that they are really co-starters.

Post 13 discussed how long to give Coach DeBoer before he goes away. I believe the buyout drops by 10% each year which means that after 4 years it would potentially cost $45+mil. to wave goodbye. That's my only point.

Really good to see this with Cam Dewberry. Built by Bama. If what we are hearing about Formby and now Dewberry we may be looking at a very good OL if we stay healthy.

Thanks for the link TJ…and I really want to believe…but the skeptic in me is only hearing, “me, me ,me.” He selfishly took the $$$ that AtxM offered him, and milked it for three years…never becoming anything more than a back-up player. When reality set in, and he realized that he was coming to the end of the AtxM gravy train, he selfishly made the decision to abandon his teammates and transfer to Alabama because of the exposure he expects to get from being here during his last year. All of his decisions have been utterly selfish, and totally void of any semblance of team attitude.

Incredibly it is the world we live in for the most part. As long as he kicks butt and helps Bama win I'm cool with it.

Coaches wanted him. He wanted to be here. He said his top priority is winning. He should get the benefit of the doubt from us as fans.

Lots of experience coming back, experience losing to teams they should never lose to, experience watching games slip away and not doing anything to stop it. As if everyone was waiting for someone ELSE to make the big play. I could say the same thing about the 2008 team at about this point but that 2008 team turned in the right direction. But that was before NIL. I don't know how that effects the mentality of players today. They also had the GOAT pushing them to succeed. We don't know who DeBoer is yet. The SEC like a knife fight in a phone booth with a Marine. Not everyone's going to survive.

True dat. Competition is the name of the game. He will push our guys which is what we need. Will find out a lot about them and him if he wins a starting spot. Good luck to all of them!

One of the most interesting things to watch, at least for me, is what happens with Mbakwe. Will he rise to the top of the depth chart as a WR or will he need to move back to defense to get more playing time. He appeared in 12 games last year on D. He seems to have confidence but does he have thephysical tools and talent to muscle someone out of a starting spot on offense?

I'm not sure how much of a chance he stands at DB or WR.

WR we have Ryan Williams, Bernard and Horton as a clear top 3. And then Scott and Brooks have both made some noise at different points.

Just at CB we have Domani, Brown, Calhoun & the apparent star of a TF in Dijon Lee. Then at S we have Sabb, Hubbard as the clear top 2. DaShawn Jones is the expected nickel. Then we have a bunch of other talented guys he would have to battle ,even if some of them are TF, in Mincey, Kirkpatrick Jr, Ivan Taylor, Red Morgan even Chuck McDonald.

I know Mbakwe was a 5 star and is talented but I'm not 100% where he lands on our depth chart at any position he would play. I would be moderately surprised if he is a significant contributor this year.
