After last Saturday's game I immediately hit the boards to try and find a message board service for Alabama fans, so I could comisserate our loss last week together, and this is what I found. So here I am
Seems like a great group of people, and I look forward to many Saturdays in the future after games of coming on and celebrating yet another Tide victory with ya.
Just a bit about myself, in case anyone at all is interested, my background is totally in Alabama football. I was born and raised down in the south of Dothan, Bama and my daddy taught me Golden Flake potato chips and Alabama football were what made Saturday special. And although as a kid, I showed only passing interest in football, it only took a move overseas and a move back to my home that the bug bit me in a big way. Ironically enough, it was the 92-93 season, my gah was that ever fun, and I've been what I was raised to be ever since.
Unfortunately, both life and marriage have taken me away from Alabama (only for the time being I can promise you) I now reside in the land of the Trojans and the Bruins. In another of life's cruel ironies, the only game I've ever been to live was the 2000 drubbing we took from UCLA out here, but it was great to see so many fans come out none the less.
At any rate, I love my state and my team (thank gah daddy wasn't an auburn fan), and I watch religously every game I can, and shell out the 5 bucks a month to yahoo to listen to the ones I can't see.
I've got high hopes for this team, and although Saturday left me heartbroken, angry, dismayed, I do gotta admit we got talent, and we showed some of that, and I truly believe we shoulda won that game, and it's only a matter of time before the Tide rolls all over everyone once again. That's why we keep watching, right?!?
So that's me, sorry for the novel. I'm looking forward to getting involved more after the game this weekend when I have something more constructive to say.
Roll Tide Roll!
