"And who knows, if shown enough Love and Respect from the fans, he may stay. "

Possibly and yes a few years with Saban would be great, would spice up the SEC west that is for sure.

However "Love and Respect" doesnt seem to effect Saban, we put up with his "Saban to _____" for 4 years and worshiped him. He was KING. His wife loved Baton Rouge (Yes it is possible) and treated him with all the love and respect he could have, we forgave him for horrible losses, or games where we almost lost to Troy State, simply because he was Nick Saban.

But I think there is some truth is he tried the NFL and its not his game and he may just retire in college ball possibly at Bama. Sad things LSU had to be the guinea pig in this deal (Well Mich ST, LSU and Miami)

He may stick around awhile. But I think some posts about all of the SEC running scared. I dont think there is much truth to that. I think everyone is going to put their helmets on just as they did before.

One positive thing about all of this, this is the best thing that happened to Les Miles. Its his team now, The vitriol for Saban will be thick in Baton Rouge and everyone will be behind Miles 100%

Thanks for your input, TT. Other LSU posters have made the same kind of statements. I believe most of the folks here who know much about the college football/coaching landscape these days understand what you say about CNS. For me, I HOPE he wins big, I HOPE he wins consistently, and I HOPE he and his family fall in love with Bama and I HOPE he hammers his tent pegs down real deep here. But I also understand that there is a sort of free agency atmosphere about winning coaches these days, like any business. If any of our people think we won't have to worry about CNS leaving, or any successful coach here, then they are deceived. IMO.

You are probably right about that. Miles gets more love now from LSU (if NS comes). AND, I agree with others, if he stays 3-4 years and gets Bama back to winning ways again, we'll take it. It's baby steps right now anyway. BTW, I thought it was strange that NS didn't have on a FINS shirt at the pc.

In regards to Saban leaving, if he wins he is at the MECCA of college football - where would he go back to the pros maybe. I am not so sure that a winning coach leaves Alabama like they do the average schools.
We have had several winning coaches leave Alabama, some to coach at lesser programs. Wallace Wade (Duke), Dennis Franchione (aTm) are examples. Bill Curey even won at Bama and left for Kentucky.

Keep in mind he has never been at a program like Alabama's. I don't think anyone would confuse the LSU or Mich State football programs with ALABAMA.
The last 20 years at LSU has been every bit as much of a pressure cooker as Alabama and in more sports.

I like LSU FB myself but just not the same league as USCs, NDs, Bamas..etc

I am concerned with him coming not with him leaving, if he dows not win he will leave- If he wins going anywhere would be a step down
Some people feed on stress and pressure, I was one of them. It's a rush better than drugs doing something either dangerous or spectacular.

LSU isn't that far behind especially if you only take into account recent stats.

If Nick stays 5 years at Bama, gets things his way and has the success we all hope for I think he will stay 10 more. He would be the last coach I see.

You make some good points texastigers about how long Saben might stay if he comes. But in this day of big money talks, there is not much loyalty from coaches to schools( BC coach going to NC State) or schools to coachs( Minn. firing Mason) So there is no guarantee how long any coach will stay.

Should Saban come to Bama (key word SHOULD), I have a gut feeling he will stay for a while unless he gets an NFL deal that includes some sort of team ownership. Maybe in the LA market when the League decides to reward that media darling again. However, I really think he is going to stay at Miami because the man enjoys success like nobody else in the profession and I don't think he wants to be perceived as a failure in leaving.
