According to that article, Braves had to make that offer and it will be rejected. Baseball contract rules, draft rules, offer rules are so confusing to me.

I know it is all about money in the end but d'Arnaud seems way more valuable to me than Ozuna. I hate that he's gone.
with d'Arnaud it was a money issue. The Braves still like him, but didn't want to pay $8 million for him. We could still sign him for say 6? Unless someone out there does want to pay him 8. He is a better bat than Murphy. Murphy was useless this year at bat.

Enemies is abit much, don't you think? I get the intense rivalry, but I will always support players looking out for themselves. Loyalty to a fan base or an organization does not pay the bills.

We are just have to agree to disagree.
Let’s not pretend Freeman or any superstar today is living paycheck to paycheck.

The Braves offered him a Phenomenal contract and his Greed took him to LA who has been a major rival of the Braves.

We can be bitter about it and hate him as much as we like…you know as Braves fans.

Pardon the interruption, but I have seen this thread title pop up from time to time on the sidebar, over the last several weeks or so.

My honest reaction was; "I don't even know what an Anthopoulos is, much less care that it is on sale.

Then I see the fried Ozuna, Acuna, and Strider. My first thought was; "I guess this must be some kinda seafood"

I know you think I'm making this up, ... and I know commas are my friend, ... but I had no clue these were names of people.

Guess it's obvious I don't follow baseball, but I thought you guys might get a chuckle out of my ignorance ... now that I have taken the time to open the thread. 😊

Crazy that’s he’s the 1st Braves pitcher in about 25 years to win the Cy Young.

When I was a teenager the Braves rotation had that award on lockdown.

This has zip to do with the upcoming season, but it IS Braves news, sad news:

Braves Hall of Famer Rico Carty passes away at age 85

It’s a bit of a somber morning this Sunday here in Braves Country, as one of the franchise’s all-time greats has passed away. Rico Carty, who spent most of his career with the Braves franchise has passed away after recently spending time in the hospital in critical condition. He was 85-years old.

Rico Carty spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Braves and had some of the best seasons of his career with the Braves. This included an incredible performance in 1970 where he hit .366/.454/.584 with 25 home runs, 101 RBIs, a wOBA of .455 and a wRC+ of 173 for 6.7 fWAR. This performance helped earn him his first and only All-Star Game appearance, which he earned as a write-in candidate as he wasn’t even on the ballot. His .366 batting average in 1970 also earned him the NL Batting Title for that season, so it really was just a standout year for this standout player — one of the pioneers of Dominican baseball players in Major League Baseball.
