Any Bible scholars here? Can we discuss 2 Samuel 14:14?

There were two cardinal rules he transgressed - that you don't do ad hominem attacks (not that he knows what that means) and, if you have a beef with staff (not just me), you take it to DM and not try to make a public fight of it. IDK if he didn't read the site policies, which is likely, or he just didn't care or was too dense to figure it all out. We have a pretty good record of working things out with new posters still finding their way. Since he's made it public, I will say he's since sent me a DM pretty much condemning me to hell on judgment day. If I'd let him stay on, I'm pretty sure he would have worked his way around to doing the same here for everyone who disagreed with him...
It is going to be really awkward when you both die and meet up in Heaven.

Sorry, Earle. Just a joke, mainly to get under our departed judge's skin.
Well, he's read only now. He actually sent me a series of some of the most scurrilous, despicable DMs I've received in over 20 years of doing this. I hope he can find an OSU forum which appreciates his attitude. That's where he belongs...

Right before the banhammer dropped, he sent me a DM inviting me to a Christianity discussion forum, claiming that the mods there didn't "demand that participants bow before them as the nutcase here does."

I honestly had no idea who he was referring to until I got caught up on this thread. :ROFLMAO:

He sent me a DM too. He sent me a link to a football forum where he says "people are free to speak their mind and have a frank and open discussion without being harassed by a bunch of cultists with a Nazi in charge".

Shall I post his football forum link?

Would you be surprised?
No....the biggest problem I faced the last 30 years was explaining to people how I could be baptist and a non-fundamentalist. I had the opportunity to shift to UMC @ 33 years ago...should have taken it. Many of my friends did over these last few decades and were much happier in their denominational affiliation.

He won't be sending any more DMs. When people come from forums where the members are free to insult each other and staff, they have a hard time getting used to the Tidefans environment. We had an influx of new members back when the old BamaMag forum went down. That forum had gone wild after its main mod passed with cancer and the founder had ceased to pay attention to it. They tried but most were not able to adapt and fell by the wayside...

I'm lifelong UMC and suffice it to say that our governing philosophy is probably diametrically opposed to the exclusionary, validate yourself position of our departed visitor. In fact, those with fundamentalist leanings are separating themselves right now. There was never any real consideration of our congregation leaving. We haven't even lost any members over the "divorce." All the people who would have left had already left when our present pastor arrived with his adopted biracial daughter. We're also on our second black youth minister...

How would you define fundamentalist? It’s one of those words that can have different meanings depending on the who you are talking to or even gradations.

Those I've known defined themselves as such. They've told me they believe every word of the KJV Bible is true, even those parts directly in conflict with other parts...
