I dont know much about WC football so if anyone has anything they know about them i would appreciate it. What type of O and D do they run? any stars on either side of the ball.....ect....ect...
Pitiful 1AA team that Bama shouldn't even be playing. Lost their last nine games last year, last of which was 62-0 to Florida.I dont know much about WC football so if anyone has anything they know about them i would appreciate it. What type of O and D do they run? any stars on either side of the ball.....ect....ect...
Easy, chief. Don't tread on the Purple Paladins.Furman took this team to the cleaners. Furman!
My apologies to the Paladins, but I'm sure their fans were also asking why are we playing such a lousy team.Easy, chief. Don't tread on the Purple Paladins.![]()
Yeah, it seats 12,000. I think my high school stadium seats at least that many. If they sell out, that's 80,000 less than they'll be playing against on Sept. 1st. Could be just a bit overwhelming. :wink:Their stadium looks like somewhere a high school team should be playing.
I know it is good to have somewhat of a warm up game first on the schedule, but I can't understand why we picked this team. Their stadium looks like somewhere a high school team should be playing. Furman took this team to the cleaners. Furman! Was Hoover too busy for the first week of the season? As bad as this team is we should have our starters out by the end of the first quarter.
I am not trying to put down Furman, I'm sure they have a fine football program. But they are not 1-A material and if they whip a team, well that is not saying much for that team. And of course WC doesn't have the revenue/fan base of a 1-A team, and there is nothing wrong with that. I am not putting them down. I am simply stating that as a top tier program in D 1-A football, I don't think playing games like this helps us one bit. And I can't imagine how playing UF last season and then Bama and UGA this season would help WC any either. WC's first 3 games include us and UGA. They are going to just get their players banged up early in the season and it can't be much fun for those guys to go into games when you have no chance of winning.Easy there Flyboy!! Furman's got one helluva program. And in reference to WC's stadium, keep in mind that this is a 1-AA school...nowhere near the amount of revenue/fan base of anyone in 1-A.
I'll take 45 to 50 points. The improvement hopefully will be the Tide with 600 yards of total offensive and W. Carolina only 150 total yards. I would like to see 250 rushing and 350 passing. I want to see 65 Alabama players in the game. The more playing time the Tide players can muster the better. Last year I almost lost it. Lack of effort and so many missed opportunities inside the red zone. The RED Zone will determine how far the Tide has come. :BigA:Make fun if you want, but I recall a Duke team last year taking a lead against us into halftime. And let's no forget our stellar performances against Fl Int'l, in which we barely moved the ball the first half of the game. Oh, and for good measure, recall that overwhelming spectacle that was the Miss. State game.
We have to prove how good we are on the field. If we don't beat W. Carolina 50-0, then we haven't improved that much at all.
One more note about Furman University. Before they were called the Purple Paladins, they were known as the Christian Knights. They elected to change the name of the team due to the obvious problem of abbreviating their name.
I am also very concerned about vandy. They always play us tough and they will answer some questions for us as to how well our defense is progressing,And before you say I'm overconfident about a team with a new coach, I think Vandy could be a tough game for us.
