These Gen Z kids blow my mind with the amount of bandwidth they push. My 14 year-old grandson is already (9th Grade) in a "College Pathways" program, in which he's earning college credits ... competes in Robotics challenges with his team of nerds ... he's First Chair in the Youth Symphony for his instrument ... active in Civil Air Patrol ... bagged a (large) elk cow already this season ... and is waiting to learn if he got a bear tag this season(!) ... is always doing events with his church Youth Group. Just writing all that tired ME out!I know I sound like an old fart saying this, but I wish they didn't have all these distractions.
I know they get paid for all this stuff, and that's fine, but I would think that the more time they spend doing this kind of stuff, the less time they're spending on game preparation.
These kids who seem to be a lock for the NFL appear to have solid futures (for which I pray they are hiring very solid financial advisors). But I wonder what the players who do NOT have a clear NFL path will be doing? They, too, strike me as "skating" through the schooling.I would also say less time on school, but I have my doubts about how much schooling any of these guys do anymore.
I hope I'm wrong.
