I had no idea any school was playing them any more.

When I was a freshman at Bama in '68, the first time I saw Johnny Musso was when he played on the freshman team when they played a 4 or 5 game schedule every year. The games were quite fun to watch.

I actually think that was one of the neat things Fran did while he was here--albeit for one game. It's an opportunity to develop players and let them get into games when they otherwise would not. With the virtually unlimited resources that our athletic program has, seems to me we would have a JV program, but I'm sure someone will come on here and give 10 reasons why we shouldn't...

I am with you. I think it was neat in '02 and it also gives us a little football during the week. You are right it develops younger players and players that do not see the playing field on Saturday. Any chance Coach Saban may adopt a JV program for maybe atleast one game per season?

Yes. I believe he was a Freshman.. he was behind Sr. Watts and Redshirt Freshman Croyle. If I'm not mistaken Spencer left a year of football on the table in '05 to concentrate on baseball

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what all this JV game talk is about..........

Is it like the underclassmen from Bama playing the game only & backups too against a college that is good, but not D1 A.
I will see if I can google on the Internet to see what these JV games are about.....

He's a Pharmacy rep now and a very nice stand up guy, even tho he couldn't help me snag an authentic jersey...lol

Really? Somehow I just can't picture him in a tight little dress and high heels, wheeling in his little suitcase full of samples, buying lunch for some Doctor's office and adding to the patient's already miserable waiting room time.. :conf2:

Yeah, I have spent way too much time experiencing this delightful scenario.

Anyway, Best of luck to Spencer! And here's to the mighty viles jv...

Its like HS. Most HS have a freshman and a JV squad. I agree with others, it could only help get these guys some game time experience.
