Apologies for bashing Coach Kalen DeBoer

I bashed him after the Florida State game. I wanted him fired immediately!

I thought he was incompetent just after coming off a 3 loss season, missing the playoffs and an insufferable bowl game loss to Michigan.

However, as we made our march through the brutal part of the schedule this year by beating tough and highly ranked SEC teams, I found myself becoming more and more impressed with his coaching and demeaner.

After beating 4 ranked teams in a row it gave me hope for the future. During that time it seemed like CKD lost the deer in the headlights look and established genuine confidence in his coaching ability.

His interviews and press conferences are no longer overwhelming for him and I feel he is starting to feel comfortable in his position at the Capstone!

DeBoer took a Washington team to the CFP finals. Washington!! He's an excellent coach and we'll be lucky to keep him a few more years. And whenever he leaves, I doubt we'll be able to replace him with an equivalent coach. In addition, we'd get to work through the team and school turmoil that accompanies the frequent replacement of a head coach. Auburn is the poster child for how that works out.

Good for you. It's easy to criticize but hard to apologize.

Not so much related to you, but to the entire Bama Nation: We have to quit this nonsense of flipping out every time we lose a game!!!

Totally agree!
College football is very different now than when Saban coached. I believe that led to his retirement.
CKD is a good person and coach. We are spoiled fans. We need to stay calm and give him the support and opportunity to lead this program.
