That being said, in celebration of our 11th anniversary and in exchange for him coming with me to Tuscaloosa for the Penn State game (with no kids in tow), I will be accompanying my barner hubby to that cow college down the road tomorrow for their season opener. We'll be taking the girls (our older daughter, a Bama girl, is none too happy about it either) and tailgating with some of Robert's barner friends.
I will be listening to the Alabama game broadcast during their game. I'm sure I'll be cheering at inappropriate times and will likely get some strange looks from the orange-clad ones. Oh well. I do love the husband-type and we must compromise on occasion. I'll find some way to enjoy myself despite not being surrounded by my Bama brethren.
I can't be ugly to these pretty Bama women that married Barners because I married a Tennessee Vol girl and that is almost as bad. Heather my lady, i used to live in the good city of Portland many moons ago and I love the Ducks and the uniforms.
I like their green helmets and their 'traditional' unis. I usually pull more against their opponents (depending on who they play) rather than for Oregon. For example, next week when they travel to Knoxville, GO DUCKS!

Have to say Oregon is my 3rd team (Bama, then Mizzou due to spending 3 semesters there including the "5th Down" game, then Oregon). My wife and I vacationed in the Willamette Valley about 5 years ago and I'd move there in a heartbeat if I could find a job and a way to make it back for Bama games.
Other than the fact, Jeremiah Masoli, got kicked off the team for stealing CPU's and smoking pot I don't know much about them. Although they did win the pac-10 (12) last year!
They do have one of the best running backs in the country. His name is LaMichael James - rushed for 1,500+ yds (14 td's) last year as a RS freshman.
They're pretty high on Soph QB Thomas as their starter. The Quack Attack is ranked 11th in both pre-season polls, that is the USA-Today Coaches' & AP...

Hubby got to go to his first Auburn game ever last year. And I have yet to get to go to an Alabama game. I didn't have to go with him to watch Auburn, and often wondered what it would have been like to go!

Well, I've only ever gone with him to the Iron Bowl, so that's a different experience than I expect it to be tomorrow. The folks he tailgates with are decent and not at all obnoxious, except for their choice of school and horrible taste in clothing. :biggrin2:Oh my you are brave!

We have fought like cats & dogs over Iron Bowls in years past, mostly since Auburn was beating us for most of this decade during which we've been married, but last year we managed to enjoy ourselves. I'm a FAR better winner than he is. In Tuscaloosa in 2008 when we won to break their streak it was not pretty. He's a bad loser and a bad winner. :biggrin2: But, after 2008's Iron Bowl we sort of came to an agreement that, if our marriage was to survive, we were going to have to find a way to compromise and tolerate each other better.
It's not easy, but it's worth it. It's hard when both people in a marriage are rabid fans for opposing teams. Really. Hard.

We are both hard core fans.....but I have respect for him and he has respect for me. Now during the iron bowl...he is just like any other pumpkin colored Aubby fan out there!
I personally think Savannah and heather should convert their hubbys

I think Oregon and Oregon State, as they did last year, will play for the Pac-10 Championship. This year at OSU. This year OSU the winner.
I like Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, Duck Tales, Duct tape, duck hunting, but really didnt like Howard the Duck.
I dislike U of O. They're a bunch of liberal hippies. I live amongst them and have found them to be unpleasant people for the most part.
