I'm interested to know if anyone has seen any updates on Cyrus? It seems everyone here thinks he's a shoe-in for our 2011 class, but I haven't read or seen him say anything but 'Alabama is not a shoe-in' or in another article: "I don't know if I can consider Alabama though because that means that I will have to compete against my brother." Although in another article he said that its a 'huge plus' to be able to play w/ his bro...

My personal opinion is that both he and his bro would be starters on our line, but who knows? Anyone got an inside scoop that I'm not seeing?

Recruits say those things to continue to garner attention and build hype. They are not going to let everyone in the country know that they will ultimately end up at a school even though it is assumed that they will. Cyrus is playing the game. Do I know for a fact he will end up at Bama? No. No one does except for him and his family. Here's what I do know: Cyrus loves Bama, he was upset that he wasn't allowed to do the things his brother could when he visited UA(official vs unofficial), his brother plays at UA and the Kouandijo family has said they would like for the brothers to play together.

I understand what Cyrus is doing, and I fully expect him to sign with Bama.

Cyrus has offers from almost every major college football power so he will have the option to go anywhere he wants to for the most part. That will make his Bama recruitment situation a little different than most prospects. He will be afforded the luxory to go and see all the schools he wants to and to commit to the school of his choice on or after NSD if he so chooses.

One thing that us Bama fans can rest easy about is that his brother Arie is already on the Bama team so you know we will be in the mix right up until the end no matter what happens. I fully expect him to sign with Bama come next year but that is not a forgone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination.

Crimson Tide looks to add a second Kouandjio in 2011 signing class | al.com
Could it be that the final verbal commitment to Alabama's 2010 class helped add perhaps the biggest addition in 2011?

Arie's brother is Cyrus Kouandjio, who is already projected to be one of the nation's top offensive line (and perhaps overall) recruits for next year's class. The younger Kouandjio already has a scholarship offer from Alabama, along with at least a dozen other programs from the ACC, SEC and elsewhere.

Scout.com already has Cyrus as the country's top offensive tackle for 2011.

Many thought Cyrus was higher on Alabama than Arie...I'd say we're in good shape

............Said Arie of his brother's recruiting process: "My advice for him would be to look around and listen, keep an open mind. But definitely, Roll Tide."

Elite DeMATHA offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio has Alabama as one of the top schools in the mix for the 2011 season. Elite 2012 DeMATHA sophomore offensive tackle Richard Webb (Rico) is receiving extra recruiting interest from Florida, USC, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Wow I am really excited about this guy. A year or two under Coach Pendry and I think we're looking at the next Andre Smith.

He "loves" to run block and "pancake" guys, but passing blocking "gives [him] a kind of break?" Hell yeah.

The Chris Samuels and Ande Smiths of the world, are a once in a decade type. Good thing it's a new decade, or will be when Cyrus would get to Tuscaloosa (for those that prescribe to decades ending in a one, not a zero). If he develops the way many expect he might over the next year, Cyrus could very well grab the LT job in 2011.

Im interested in seeing Webb this year for dematha also talk about a dominating oline webb and cyrus

THis pipeline could be the beginning of a dominating OL for future Championships. They must know how to grow them up there in VA.

Ever notice how great players follow great players. They see how great players perform and expect the same out of themselves. I think our defense set the standard last year and ultimately, our defense will want to live up to that standard this year too.

I sure hope your right because that LT job looks to be up in the air a year from now. Fluker doesn't look to be as dominating as we all thought he would be coming out of high school.
