Well first of I want to see this is the game ive been waiting for since last seasons melt down. I believe JPW will step it up this week and play lights out against their secondary. Defensively we will have to limit them, we dont have to completely shut them down but if we can do what we did last year and dont give up the big plays we WILL win this game.

Arkansas- 17

Alabama- 27

A solid game from JPW could make it an even larger win, but I expect an average performance (60% comp; about 200 yards). At home and looking to avenge last year's loss could provide some more motivation, even though I'm sure CNS already has the team as motivated as can be. If Ark had a decent passing game that did not rely on the Wildcat formation, they'd probably win this one.

My biggest concern with this team was Vandy exposing our D-Line and LB's by running all over us and then nailing us with a home-run pass or 2 to Bennett. It didn't happen which gives me a good comfort level for Arkansas. I know that Arkansas is bringing a much more dangerous running attack to T-Town than the one we saw last Saturday from Vandy, but I liked the play of our guys and think that they will do well again. Personally, I don't think we shut Arkansas down but I do think we can slow them down. Plus, their O-Line is not nearly as experienced as the last few years and I think crowd noise and some interesting blitz/stunt packages by the Bama D will work to our advanatage.

On the flip side, I was really disappointed with the play of JPW on Saturday. He made some really bad decisions and some of his passes were downright awful. Hopefully, he gets on track because this Offense has some real firepower to go along with an O-Line that has started to control the LOS. All we need is a triggerman and if it's GM, than so be it.

As for the score, Bama-Arkansas games are always nailbiters and games with Arkansas always have some kinda sub-plot within the game, like Tiffen missing easy FG's or 5 OT's or Nutt takes a swing at Saban. I see nothing different this week:

Bama-24
Arkansas-21 (Arkansas will miss a FG late to take it to OT)

After watching the Vandy game, I have a lot more confidence in our run defense. Didn't look at the final stats, but it seemed like we stuffed almost every running play. Granted, Vandy's running game is nowhere near as good as Arkansas', but as most have said, nobody will be able to STOP the pigs' ground attack. As long as we can contain them, we should come out on top. I look for JPW to have a bounce-back game and we get a solid win 31-20.

This game is on the defense to stop the powerful Hawg running game. If they are at least slowed down Bama will win a close one.

Bama 31
Arkansas 27
