Indeed a good read. But please no more teaser topics. The title was a little, misleading. I need to know what "the "article" is about.

A very nice read. It got me thinking about how many college QBs faced their former high school coach in college. I couldn't think of another, at least in recent times.

Good read.

You, know after every win this year each coach has been very humble and gracious in defeat. They've even gone so far as to PRAISE our team and mention National Championship unprompted. Makes me feel good about our chances, but I don't think I could ever be that gracious. I'm kind of mean and surly in defeat...at least for a little while.

Gerry Faust and Art Briles are the only two coaches I can think of who went from high school directly to college head coach. Maybe it's happened at the 1-AA or Division II level. Suffice to say, it's rare.

Good article HSV, thanks for posting it.

That praise from opposing coaches is subject to change after we get into our SEC schedule. LOL.

Loved the Cronkite/Rashad line :)

It's safe to say the N.Tx head coach was rather impressed .
Dodge said. "And I said, 'I’m so proud of you, what you have done and what you’re gonna do.’ I told him to stay focused and go after it because it’s kind of stating the obvious, but they have all the makings [of a national championship team]. They are a complete football team."

Turns out that McElroy's highschool coach is a classy guy, and gentelman. He did not make a bunch of excuses for the loss. He knew that N.Tx faced incredible odds of pulling off an upset, but they tried.
I believe that friendly contact after a game is much more important than forced handshakes before the game.
The National TV. exposure was also good for North Texas. I wish them well for the remainder of the year.
