AU DE Michael Goggans says Ingram will not win Heisman

This coming from a defense that allows some serious rushing yards...... :) I know they are going to be heck bent on stopping the run so seeing 8-9 guys in the box should be expected and I am confident that JJ and Maze are foaming at the mouth looking to post some great numbers against what should be 1 on 1 man coverage with no safety help over the top~!~

I just wonder how many teams this year have said the EXACT same thing......... :)

You have to love MI's class and the way he represents the U of A... Man what a great back and if anyone is going to break the record I truly hope he gets it done this Friday......... Better watch TR though he might just take that record before it is all said and done~!~

This is from a defense which is one of the worst in the SEC. If Goggans is concerned with Ingram not winning the Heisman, that is good, I can say that he will not be an Iron Bowl winner in 2009. Ingram will run over Goggans on the first play with Richardson running over the end on the 3rd carry of the game and Goggans will be irrevelant like Auburn football.

Does he have a crystal ball or something? Makes me think the fans and players all think alike.

Let 'em think what they want, whatever makes them feel good, it's about all they got!!

You would think that these student-athletes would be intelligent enough to not give the other team more motivation before a big game. It's also a good idea to not set yourself up to look foolish if things don't go exactly as you think (more like hope, in this case) they will.

If Ingram runs over Goggans on his way to a 60-yard TD, this guy has made himself the target of a plethora of farks, YouTube parodies, and who knows what other avenues of derision.

I just don't see the Auburn defense being able to hold up throughout the game. I think that they'll hang tough for the first half and part of the third quarter, but as the game wears on their lack of depth and longer and longer drives by Bama's offense will have them reeling. Ingram will likely have done his damage by early in the 4th and Richardson will continue the merciless barrage.

Don't forget about Upchurch. He likes carrying that rock, too.

Mr. Goggans is partly right. The people who vote for the Heisman knows any running back can gain huge yards against his Auburn defense. Mr. Ingram will win the Heisman after he gains huge yards against a real defense like Florida in the SEC Championship game.

What the heck are these guys thinking. They are obviously the over matched team and they are providing more inscentive for a far more talented team. But it seems like we were pulling the same stuff under Shula when we were the less talented team. We know how those games turned out.

like i said in another post. they are spending a lot of time talking about things that don't matter in the execution of the game. we are spending a lot of time preparing for the game.

i like our approach much better.

I'm not sure which is more ridiculous. The fact that people continue to stick a microphone in these guys faces when they are saying something stupid, or the fact that they report what they said.

Yes and he doesn't mind running over someone either. He seems like a more specialized back, however. He is great in the third-down situations because he can pass-protect well, is good at misdirection plays, draw plays and screens. I think that he'll get more plays throughout the game, mainly in those third-down situations.

I'm a bit worried about putting him in for fourth-quarter bulldozing, however. He just seems like he's more comfortable in open-field situations and is a bit injury-prone. He doesn't have the compact, big-body that Ingram and Richardson have.

Only partly right, because 8 or 9 in the box will not stop our running...others with much better defenses (and smaller mouths) have tried. I just know Johnson, Carpenter, Davis, Jones and Vlachos (and Peek et al) will love reading this...
And, btw, who is Michael Goggans? DE for the barn? I didn't know they had a DE...other than Coleman.
