Auburn fans reach a new level of bitterness

Expect the delusion to continue. When AU is moderately successful they can at least focus their insanity on their own team a bit. But with the serious lack of depth they've got right now - and with Coach Cheezit to turn it around no less - expect more ranting and raving about us.

The barners simply cannot accept the truth - that even with all the hype they got early in the year, they ended up tied for 4th in the SEC West and tied for 7th in the SEC overall. I guess if you count some of their moral victories, maybe they really are 2nd or 3rd? With Tubs's awful recruiting effort his last few years, AU is in a position where they need to out recruit us and the other big boys in the SEC for 2-3 years just to be relevant again in the SEC West. But even after bringing in luper/trooper, big cat weekend, stretch limos, and getting Dyer, the barn is still currently ranked 3rd in the SEC West and 5th overall in the SEC on Rivals and 3rd in the West and 6th overall on Scout.

Rather than focusing on and accepting their own failures against us, the barners would rather make excuses. And since your typical barner is not the brightest guy around, they tend to come up with off the wall, insane stuff. So as we continue to dominate the barn, expect more crap about the REC, officiating, black helicopters, etc.....

I cruise around looking at what other message boards are saying. A majority congratulated Mark Ingram and Alabama, three stood out. Auburn, LSU and Tennessee, Auburn has been covered but LSU and Tennessee are two teams in the past Alabama fans would have called their second favorite team in the SEC. Fullmer fixed that for Tennessee but we are at least trying to heal those wounds. LSU hates everything Alabama because they are consumed by their hate for Nick Saban. It's pathetic the things they say about our players because of their hatred for our coach. Florida, USC, Georgia, Arkansas all offered congratulations.

My goodness........

Sounds like next time I make it back home, I may hear something other than "Punt, 'Bama, punt!" as their favorite taunt.

But maybe not: it was my Senior year. Funny how they never seem to forget that.

For the record, I don't hate them, I just wish they would shut up, And not one of them can show where I taunted them. Can't say the same in return. They must be putting something in the water down there for them to harbor such resentment and bitterness.
Yeah they love to dish it out but sure can't take it.

It's run off from all the pasture ponds that causes the bitterness:BigA:

The sadly ironic thing is that IF they were to concern themselves with goings on in Auburn rather than Tuscaloosa, THEN they might see some actual improvement over there in Lee County.

Lord knows that the economy of the State of Alabama sure could use the help. ( with 2 schools doing well instead of the ignorant zero sum theory that most of them subscribe to. )

After a Bama victory over Auburn a few years back, I forget the year, I opened the Sunday Huntsville Times sports section, noticed the obligatory front page story on Bama's victory, but below the fold, displayed on the lower half section of the front page, was a story on the "Punt, Bama, Punt" game. That, coupled with the Leftist tendencies of the op-ed page, forced me to quit taking that rag.

Not sure what the moral is, but AU and their supporters are a funny lot; they hold onto past achievements like salve, to be applied during outbreaks of inferiority complex.

This propensity to reminisce the glory of their few past achievements during times of hardship is why AU will never be champions. While they have heart and desire, they can't stare adversity in the eye, and gain strength from their failures; their successful brother just got another promotion and a new trophy wife. That SOB gets everything while they get the room in their parent's attic.

...but, but, but...

I thought we found peace in the state of Alabama?! I thought we were all happy?! Aren't Bama fans happy with a win and Auburn fans happy with coming close to beating Bama?

Oh well...

Let's hope their hatred reaches another new height on Jan 7.

Auburn had a good season and it is the responsibility of the Barnyard fans to focus on all that is good. The hatred will be the barns demise. Giving lip service to everything Alabama is fruitless. A lot of wasted air and blog space that society could use for the good of college football.

Accusing SEC officials (Refs) of cheating for Alabama and Florida is stupid. The suggestion of the SEC cheating is lame to begin with. Limited intelligence and hate are contributing factors of the stupidity being stated. Life has taught us its better to be gracious than scornful.

It really matters not that some barn fans cry and whine about anything Alabama. It really is laughable which leaves us all with Smiles. :biggrin2:

From the aubie boards..

They are a sad lot.

Thread here
That truly is sad if that guy believes those things. I think the joke is his attitude. In 2004, I remember congratulating my Auburn friends on a great season. I did tell them that I thought USC would have beaten them pretty easily, but I also told them that I thought AU would have given USC a better game than OU did. Some people in this world are just plain stupid; unfortunately, we have our share in our fanbase, too. As they say, you can't fix stupid.

Here is a quote from one of the Auburn players.
This article was written by Evan Woodbery and appeared in the Huntsville Times.
"Stevens said it was difficult watching Mark Ingram run all over the Florida defense after Auburn had shut him down a week earlier. Still, he said, 'I'm proud for (Alabama). They deserved it. They went undefeated. I can't say anything bad about them.'"

It's too bad that many of the fans of both our programs don't behave in this same manner. Roll Tide.

When Coach Saban arrived at Alabama, I remember someone on this board said that what we were hearing and seeing out of our rival schools was a four-letter word.....FEAR. I thought to myself how astute an observation that was at the time. In fact it may have been directed at Auburn. It's been so long now I have forgotten. Yet this observation still holds that the pervading tendency out of Auburn is fear. You can smell it, see it and hear it. It's a beautiful thing while it lasts.
