Auburn Gameday Signs and Supporting Cade Foster

To no one's surprise, the Barners have brought a slew of classless signs to College Gameday. The signs insulting the team as a whole don't concern me, but the signs directed at our kickers and the many directed solely at Cade Foster are upsetting. I never believe that any college athlete should be openly attacked on the basis of on-field performance, but the majority of these signs do just that.

For Example:
Kick Bama Kick
Let's Settle This With Kickers
Foster: Australian For Can't Kick a Field Goal

So on and so forth. I sincerely hope that Cade Foster kicks four field goals today en route to a 54-0 win. I know that Foster has missed some critical field goals, but that hardly means he should be publicly humiliated. It is, after all, only a game and he is a young man in the public eye. Foster has never done anything that has suggested a lack of personal character, say, stealing a laptop. I guarantee that no one feels worse about the missed field goals than he does. Roll Tide, Beat Auburn, and Go Cade Foster!

I'm more miffed about how Gameday goes to Tuscaloosa and gets an LSU guest picker and goes to Auburn and gets an Auburn guest picker. Not that it matters at all but really?

Guys, how many of you laughed at signs making fun of Cam and Jefferson? I know Jefferson brought his ridicule on himself by beating the bejeesus out of a Marine at a bar, but still...people latch onto the low hanging fruit. Let's just be thankful Foster is the most prominent thing they can choose to make fun of us, and hopefully it will serve as motivation for him to improve.

Regardless, it's nothing to get worked up over. Our fan base does the same things, and all of us (including those who are upset by the signs poking at Foster) laugh at them.

The difference is Foster didn't choose to miss those field goals. He gave his best effort and couldn't do it. Scam chose to steal that laptop, to accept those payments. Jefferson chose to assault that Marine. No one else made either of them break the law, they chose to. In reality, neither of them should have been allowed to remain enrolled in their respective universities, much less on the football teams. Those two chose to break the law and opened themselves up to ridicule because they do not have good character. In short, Foster accidentally missed those field goals. Scam and Jefferson purposely broke the law.
