Here's a bit of information on Auburn this season. They are 5-6 on the season, but they are 2-6 against P5 teams. Those two wins were both by 3 points and include a win against Missouri, in which Missouri did everything they could to lose the game, and a win against Texas A&M which was in a death spiral by the time Auburn played them. Those are two really bad wins. Auburn could easily be 0-8 against P5 competition coming into the Iron Bowl. Auburn also has losses of 29 points against Penn State and 32 points against UGA. Auburn has scored an average of 20.4 points and given up an average of 32.0 points per game in those 8 games.

Hope this doesn't mean they storm the field like Vol or Gamecock fans. Show class, NOT 3/5 of class. Act like you've been there in the past. Show that you have more than one tooth! A smile after the game will show that.
Yes. No storming the field

My blood pressure issues preclude me from watching this game. THIS Alabama team can beat anybody they play, but if they do it will be on the last play and I just can't take it any more.
I've let the DVR take care of the game a couple of times this year for the same reason you did. I went to the movies during the Tennessee game. I knew better than to watch it live.

I normally have good or low blood pressure and resting heart rate, except during Bama games. lol

Last year's Iron Bowl with 4 overtimes was mentally exhausting for me. So glad we won that though. Glad the game is an afternoon game.

I'll be watching. I always do. Gonna be the usual family and friends IB Party, but I'll honestly go into this one with no expectations. Truth is the older I get, no longer having children playing the sport and accepting the fact this year's team isn't the dominator we're used to seeing has chilled me a bit. Still very, very frustrating at times and I'll occasionally have to walk back some comments, but I'll continue to support the Tide.

The game being in Tuscaloosa REALLY helps us. If it were in auburn, my Lord, I hate to even think about that. Going there right now, with all that "us against the world, we can't be stopped" business. No thank you. Try as they might, they can't replicate that atmosphere in Tuscaloosa. They haven't been competitive in a game at Bryant Denny since 2014. They'll do the kitchen sink routine I'm sure. But, it's senior day, it's Bryce's final home game, and even in a "down year" such as this, we still have way more talent and depth. If nothing else, they will run out of gas like they did last year

Love Caddy. But we are not beating Bama in their house even in a "down" year for them. Cam Newton is not in our backfield. And we do not have a serviceable replacement for him.

We are "QB poor". In an era that demands good QBs.

If we had a decent QB that could throw and mix the running and passing plays, we might have a chance. But Bama has the DL and LBs to shut down the run game and force us to throw, which we can't.

Our starting QB couldn't start at most FCS schools. That's just a hard but true fact.

But we have a week to dream...

For all you guys who are not old enough to remember the 1974 Iron Bowl????? You cannot imagine what that was like. THAT....was a nail biter. Good grief. What a game that was. People getting to Legion Field 3 hours early...just to scream at each other. The game was worth the hype. 2 awesome Defenses. 2 great running teams. Pads popped all day. Bama won 17-13.....but that game left us drained. Then..we waited over 30 days for the Orange Bowl to lose a close one to Notre Dame for the NC. Iron Bowls of recent years haven't matched that one for sure IF one can recall the atmosphere of 1974.

Couldn’t agree more…I wish I could take all these young Bama fans back to those days in a time machine to experience it for themselves.

We've got a party of 14 for the Iron Bowl this year. Rented an Airbnb right behind Tutwiler. I haven't been to an IB since I was in college at Bama in the early 90's and I cannot wait! Two of us are Bama grads, 4 are currently students (one has a dad who is a special assistant to Coach Saban :) ), and one more joining them next year. My 15 year old niece will be there in 3 years. We have 3 Aubs going, 2 of them being my daughter (I know, I know. LOL) and her husband, and a nephews girlfriend. The rest are Troy grads. I'd love to see some Joyless Saban M*rderball this weekend. I've missed it this year! ROLL TIDE!!

That was a realistic post from the AU supporter. I agree with everything he said. We have not played up to our standards, but I don't think this AU team has enough firepower to beat us even with our current crop of Coaches.
I wrote out a response with my somewhat pessimistic assesment but instead will say that I hope you are right on target!

I DVR’d the Texas, LSU, and the Agricultural & Mechanical University games. I DELETED all three without watching any of them. I will DVR that game vs that Albarn Polytechnical Institute this Saturday. I may or may NOT watch the DVR version. It just depends on the final result: SCORE.

During the game I will watch it rain or walk a few miles to rid my body of any frustration.

This game shouldn't be close, but it will be. Auburn looks like a different football team since Caddy took over. You can tell his kids are feeding off of his energy and the overall attitude of the team seems very different. Nevertheless, we have better talent across the board and that has basically been the difference between winning and losing for most of the year. This game should be no different.

The crayon king should have them playing with emotion and energy. But, in the end, it won't be enough. Look at the team they had the last time they won in Tuscaloosa and look at the team they have now. I don't think that there is any comparison. Even Auburn fans say that Ashford would be lucky to get playing time at an FCS school

It looks like there may be a good chance of rain for the Iron Bowl. Anybody here remember Snake’s run in the mud?

I just looked at the weather for Saturday. Hope the rain holds off until after the game. That forecast said sunshine a few days ago when I looked at it. There needs to be a full, loud stadium. No injuries. Hope the seniors can have a nice senior day without bad weather. RTR
