I agree with Will Muschamp....I think Fla.'s return man was interfeard with on calling for a fair catch.(he muffed the ball):biga: Muschamp was steamed to no end.He kept chewing on the official's ear.I switched over and watched a little of the ramseyites during bama's halfime.Did anyone else see this?

Re: Bad no call?

I think it was a bad call. Gotta give the player an opportunity to catch the ball. That being said, if Rainey had spent his time jumping on the football instead of pointing his finger at the *u player, it might have changed the oucome of the play. It seems like everytime someone gets bumped, drops a pass, etc., they jump up and point, looking for a flag. Play ball, let the officials figure it out.

He couldn't jump on it. Bates picked it up immediately and ran it to the endzone.

The call was pathetic. The refs felt Rainey had plenty of room to make the catch. If that means having a guy within a yard of you, he had plenty of room. Last I checked though, a return man is supposed to have more than that.

this has nothing to do with whether or not they missed the call, but apparently even when they have room to field a punt, NO ONE on florida's team can catch a punt!

It was a horrible call that changed the momentum of the game. The real question wasn't if he gave him enough room, but if he bumped him or not. Having said that Florida is still a mess after having played Alabama.

Can't say for sure, but it looked like he bumped his left arm to me. Regardless, he didn't give him enough room.

What is the current rule on that - anybody know? I think at one time the defender had to give about 2 yards, but I think they changed it. Not sure if they changed it to a certain distance or not.

Bama got called for one of those several weeks ago if I'm not mistaken...the interference on Rainey was even closer/worse & should have been called also.
Having said that, whether or not it would have made a difference is debatable as UF looks to be on a downward slide. They had opportunities to change the game in their favor, but couldn't do anything. Both teams looked inept. Again.

Coach Boom gotta start teaching fundamentals, gators lived by the juke & jive to long now has caught up with them. It never should have got to this as a game changer..

Cut out the trying to make ESPN highlights & they may just get on there with good play.

Like he didn't know there would be bad calls at the Barns field?

Did try bother to even look at tapes?

I know that we know what we will be up against.

I understand that, but Rainey made no effort whatsoever to try to recover his own fumble. He was too busy pointing and screaming for a penalty. I guess my point is finish the play, then make your case after the whistle blows. Maybe if he'd dove for the ball, he could have knocked it loose and UF recovers. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.....

don't matter if it is home cooking or not. the way to beat Auburn is simple, run straight at them. say what you want to but they have not beaten a team that can RUN the football. i know Arkansas doesn't have the greatest run game in the world but it was enough to beat them. Clemson ran a sorta spread power run game at them and racked up over 600 yds of offense. heck even UTAH STATE had a chance to beat them and they did run the ball straight at them. smoke and mirrors only work for so long.

That was a terrible call... turrahbull jus turbull.

As for the rule concerning the college fair-catch, from memory mind you, is there isn't a halo. Player simply has to be given a chance to catch the ball without interference.

There was alot of that and also an interference in the endzone that wasn't called. Florida would have had 1st and goal if they would've thrown the flag. Stuff like that will get a team down on itself. They are both stiill orange and blue so I'm not getting too excited about it, but they need to call it right on 11/26!
