I wonder if Vol fans watching the ND game in public areas (sports bars, resturants, jails, etc) will cover their heads with bags?

i'm probably in the minority here, but i think the vols pull a huge upset in south bend this weekend. i think they get their running game going (even without riggs playing) and i think they pound ND"s defense into submission by the end of the game.

their defense is certainly good enough to stop ND's offense.

i just can't see the vols losing 4 in a row. plus, they've played this ND team for the past few years and know them pretty well.

i may be wrong, but i think the vols take the irish this saturday.

Most UT fans should be prepared to wear their bags again this weekend.
I just don't see the UThug offense scoring enough to win. Last ime I checked, you have to get in the endzone and/or kick the ball through the uprights to win. If they can't hold USC on a game-winning drive, why would anyone think they can stop ND at all? ND is not an offensive juggernaut, but they can move the ball. The major difference in the two teams is the coaching-one(Weiss) is proving his worth, while the other(Fatty) is proving his worthlessness.

It would not surprise me at all. Tennessee is still the most talented team in the SEC (if we're to believe the recruiting gurus). They could very well hammer a Notre Dame team that takes them too lightly and doesn't respect their athleticism.

Plus, having one of our defeated opponents take out a highly ranked opponent of their own could only help us in the BCS standings, right? ;)

bagged vol fans

Spurrier is trying to recuit Jimmy Clausen as well as UT? Hmmm wouldn't that just knock the hillbilly right off the rocky top if SS could snag him. Saturday couldn't have hurt Carolina's chances. If nothing else, bet the guy doesn't go to UT. :eek2:

I think the bag wearing shows just how loyal of fans they are.

You don't ever boo your own team.
You don't ever wear bags on your heads to show your disgust.

It's not that UT's offense is really "horrible" it is simply they are playing with ZERO confidence. When a team is beaten mentally (before they ever step on the field) the physical talent factor doesn't eve play a role.

Tennessee gets drummed in South Bend which will give the ESPN Gameday crew and the other sports outlets validation to their statements of how "bad" the SEC's offenses are and how overrated their defense's are also.

From what I hear, JC is looking/leaning at ND pretty hard. Extra incentive for the game?

The sense of urgency at UT is heightened because there's a perception Phillip Fulmer's program is out of control.
Nice to see the utters get some highly deserved negative press from SI!
