When I was a kid all three on my list would have been Auburn. (Mostly because Coach Bryant drilled that hatred into our whole state.)

The last 20 years my list changed to 1. UGA, 2. LSU, 3. Auburn.

I have a sick/sad feeling NIL and the Portal are going to make "rivalries" fade away. Too bad....

Honestly…during this “rent a player” era of college football it doesn’t mean as much as it did years ago. I use to live and die by wins or losses to a rival (ie. Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, etc).
My sentiments exactly. Since the teams are only marginally affiliated with whatever university ( can one actually say they’re “ students “? ) through the school’s brand, it doesn’t mean the same, at least to me. Hired hands.

So true! Why get excited when player you cheer for this year may be playing against you on another team next year.

I think if i lived closer to Georgia then Georgia would be it. They have the worst fans in sports just below Philly fans.

However for me Tennessee will be the biggest rival. I think Auburn is a game where Alabama can’t afford to lose and Auburn must win. Winning the IB for bama is more of a sigh of relief than it is to shoot off fireworks and buy shirts.

Obviously most people think that Auburn is Bama's biggest rival. I wanted to ask Bama fans themselves on who they thought was their biggest rivals. Maybe a top 3 rival list in order.
If you define "biggest" to mean "program most commonly appearing in the national championship discussion," I'd say UGA, then LSU or Tennessee (although that would be different five years ago as Tennessee was still in the doldrums and LSU was in the conversation a bunch; now they seem to have swapped, UT is talked about in the national chamionship more than LSU).
It is difficult to list UGA since their record against Alabama in the last decade is poor, but they are in the conversation every year now.

If you mean, "The one game Alabama fans least want to lose oe rejoice the most when they win" I'd have to say the Barn, and that is not because the Barn is perennially in the national championship conversation, but because Bama fans have to live, work, and worship with Barn fans and if Bama loses, they hear about it for 364 days. Same goes for Alabama fans living in Georgia (for UGA) or Louisiana (for LSU).

If you mean "best record against Alabama in the last decade," or "habitually gives Alabama the toughest time, even when Bama wins" I'd have to say LSU.

To me, they’re just different. The barn is highly annoying when they lose, and insufferable when they win.

I’ll never forget, let alone forgive what the puke arnge tried to do to us, and came within a speck of dandruff on a hair on a gnat’s patootie of actually doing.

UGA was consistently obnoxious for over 40 years with nothing to justify the attitude. Hats off for winning 2 NCs. They’re actually a bit more tolerable since that.

LSU has a lot in common with UGA — far more bluster than achievement.

Because of the donkey-like braying, I hate losing to the barn more than I like winning. Then there’s the inexplicable stuff that happens against them — mostly in their stadium, but occasionally in ours.

I hope Phil Fulmer never sees another UTe win, not even against a D3 team.

UGA, I have to respect, though since they’ve actually won something worth winning lately, their obnoxiousness seems to abate a little.

LSU is pesky and vocal, but just not consistently good enough.

Well, I don't want to lose to anybody.

My number one is LSU because I live here, and it's a similar situation to BAMA folks in Alabama if we lose to Auburn.

Tied for number one is Tennessee. I didn't have a major dislike for Tennessee until your brother decided to go after BAMA. Now I hate Tennessee.

The Barn comes in after that.

For me, it's Georgia, Auburn, then Tennessee. If Auburn were actually good, they would probably pass Georgia, but it's hard to get too excited about beating a 5-7 team no matter who they are. Georgia has become the team that I want to go 0-12 every single season. I'll settle for 1-11 with Auburn, provided they beat Georgia.

What is more interesting to me is trying to list the top two rivals for each school and then see how many times a team shows up. (I bet you know where this is going)

SEC Rivals

Alabama - Tennessee, Auburn
Arkansas - LSU, Alabama
Auburn - Alabama, Georgia
Florida - Georgia, FSU
Georgia - Florida, Ga Tech
Kentucky - Louisville, Tennessee?
LSU - Alabama, Mississippi
Mississippi - Miss State, Alabama
Miss State - Mississippi, Alabama
Missouri - Oklahoma, Texas A&M?
Oklahoma - Texas, Ok State
South Carolina - Clemson, Georgia
Tennessee - Alabama, Vandy?
Texas - Oklahoma, Texas A&M
Texas A&M - Texas, Alabama
Vanderbilt - Tennessee, Alabama?
