Bama getting no respect

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

Losing to the two best teams we played all year doesn't seem as much bad luck as our incompetence. Also beating the number 1 ranked team coming off back-to-back national titles and still getting left out because of a week freaking 2 loss would seem way unluckier.
The dumbest argument that I heard all November and all offseason was “we were two plays from 12-0”…. But we were also “3 plays from 7-5” as well.

So let me get this straight, Bryce Young getting tackled and then hurt by a guy who USED TO PLAY FOR BAMA isn’t bad luck? Wow…
You never specified anything, so I’m going strictly off the post that SCS posted. To which I still say “no” because we still lost two games.

Is that honestly any dumber than TCU losing their conference title game and not dropping a single spot? Keep in mind the Big12 was at best the 4th best conference last year and Bama destroyed the team that beat TCU...

It was crazy bad luck. But it did not cost us any games. Ineptitude on defense cost us 2 games.
Bryce's injury 100% cost us the LSU game. Go back and watch some his throws. He had guys open and was throwing it in the dirt because he had no zip on the ball. Even with Golding's ineptitude, we beat LSU with a healthy Bryce Young.

Yes. TCU didn’t drop because they were avoiding a Michigan-Ohio st rematch while rewarding Georgia with home field advantage in Atlanta. The ranking of 3 and 4 is irrelevant and only used to reward #1 and #2 while trying to maximize profits.

Who's to blame for where we sit??? We need to look in the mirror!

Do I think we'd beat Texas right now? Yes, but that game in September counts.

Two straight years we've put ourselves behind the eight ball. We handle our business and quit losing games in the regular season and we'd be sitting at the top.

If this was a year from now, we wouldn't even be sweating anything. We had so much good luck with the playoff I guess we were bound to have bad luck at some point.
A year from now, I won't be watching any regular season games, too.

There's a reason I don't watch regular season college b-ball - because I'm so old I remember when the Sweet Sixteen is when the tourney BEGAN.

There's a reason I have not seen a SINGLE NFL PLAY this season - because it doesn't matter until the last week.

Baseball is on the verge of losing me after what happened with all the good teams not named Houston this past season.

And college football is about to lose me, too.

And in every case - it's because they expanded the playoffs and turned their regular seasons into the equivalent of spring training in baseball, which I never watched, either.

Polls - which already have 1% meaning - will have 0%.
Bowls - they're going away.

And you know what will NOT go away?
Some penny ante 3-loss team from the SEC whining that "UCF/Boise didn't play as tough a schedule as we did, but they GOT IN THE TOURNAMENT that nobody would have considered us for until College Football went Full Moron!"

We still have teams that cry like babies because they finish 9th in a 14-team conference and have to watch some team get selected 68th for the b-ball tournament over them.

Regular season sports are becoming the most useless form of entertainment in world history.

Maybe. Something was off for sure. The injury didn't seem to affect him that much against UTenn with 49 points and 455 yards passing. It took umpteen blown coverages to lose that game. Had they won it, Bama still goes the the SECC even after losing to LSU.
