Bama getting no respect

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

That “reveal” show was the most absurd thing since I watch Baghdad Bob report that there were NO American troops in the Iraqi capital. Kirk said that if the choice came between Oregon and Bama that the decision would be easy and Oregon would be the clear choice. This after saying that they essentially had played no one during the regular season.

No one seems to be questioning Oregon's SOS for some reason....zero wins over currently ranked teams vs our 3

Who has Oregon ever beaten?

I mean seriously, in their entire history. They're a pretender, they're one step up from Boise State. They blowout nobodies, that's what they do. I pointed this out years ago and they have won absolutely nothing of note since then either.

They have 0 national championships. They have a losing record in bowl games, but because they blowout nobodies (like Boise St. did for a while) the media loves them. It's a farce.

Here’s one for you:

So what happens if Louisville beats FSU &….

Texas loses the Big XII CG

The way this committee is set up, they’d make a case for Washington (assuming they lose to Oregon) seeing that one loss in the same manner as they did TCU with K-State. Virtually they have it in their minds that Washington is already a playoff team and Oregon would have a quality win beating a team they already lost to. While that seems ridiculous, I wouldn’t put it past them.

I really don’t trust this committee.

UGA Would absolutely skulldrag UW. So would Bama. Oregon and Lanning’s HORRIBLE day coaching that game are the only reason UW is even in the conversation, and the only reason why the Ducks aren’t in the top 4.

This is what had me pulling my hair out listening to Greg and Kirk. Greg said if the committee put Texas behind Bama if both were 12-1 that they would be saying the “regular season didn’t matter” while doing just that by saying Oregon should be picked over Bama if both were 12-1 and conference champions.

hypothetically speaking… let them trade schedules and see who has the better record. We know.

There isn't a single committee member with SEC representatives. The entire committee is made up of bias members itching to lock the SEC out. Can't really blame them, look how many Championships went to SEC schools since 2000. A LOT of them belong to our conference. This is a attempt to unseat the kings. A mutiny if you will.

And they know that the 12 team format will only strengthen the SEC reigns on college football.

Obviously this committee is determined to either limit or keep the SEC out completely. You would think after the atrocious error of putting TCU in last year, they would want to really want to get it right this time. But I guess idiots will be idiots.

So what happens if Louisville just hammers FSU and UT gets beat. Do you think, the way the committee is thinking, they might let them jump Alabama?

No. If that happens then you are in. If either one loses and you beat Georgia then you are in.

What is this strength of record metric they were harping on during the show? I couldn’t figure it out but Oregon, Texas, Washington and FSU all had a higher SOR ranking than Bama, even though we have a higher SOS ranking over all those teams except Texas (according to the show).

They were using that SOR metric to basically justify these rankings. How can Oregon have SOS in the 60s but a SOR in the top 5?

Yeah, if Oregon and Texas have a higher SOR than Alabama then the formula is broken. SOR is a ranking that asks, given the results of those games, which teams record would be the most difficult to achieve.

Obviously, undefeated teams would be higher because they have no losses on their record. Then one loss teams should align based on how tough their opponents are.

Texas has a higher SOS than Alabama (ESPN) so they are ahead of Alabama. But Oregon does not, so they are behind Alabama.
