Something tells me "Bobby Joe" is not a Bama fan...:rolleye2:
Probably. For any Longhorn lurkers out there, this Bama fan has a whole heapin' helpin' of respect for the Longhorns.
I was present the last time Texas beat Alabama. if I recall correctly, Alabama had a pretty good coach at the time...

Oh yea we all know that they the Texas Longhorns play like a girls team , and they are about to play the Greatest team to ever play College Football. Coach Brown needs to forfeit this game , so the Texas fans will not be embarrassed and his team will not want to run and hide after this game . Butt Kicking Time not even a good warm up game !!!!!! I mean Tebow cried , but the whole Texas team will be on the sidelines tears running down their faces in total shock and disbelief.
" Hook em baby Hook em "

I agree with Bobby Joe. Yeah they have a month to get prepared and to get pumped up as the underdog; however, this Bama team is on a mission.

I see no slacking off, I see know "Big Head" mentality coming.

Let's not forget that we have more to prove than just beating FL from last year; we also lost to Utah, which might be the worst feeling Bama has had since the LA Monroe beat down in 2007 or the MSU beat down in 2007.

I have a feeling these boys are motivated to win this game more than we as fans would like to actually see it.

Keep in mind that altough they have a very good defense; they have not played a game against a team with a defense of our calibre all year.

I see our boys hogging the ball on offense and bringing the pain on their no run attack offense with our defense.

Lights out!!!

Bama 38 - Texas 7....RTR
Sorry, but Bobbie Jo's post was pure smack. Neither team's fans are allowed to do it. Do it somewhere else...

Edit: "Bobby Joe" had a fake email address, and, in all probability was never a Bama fan, anyway...

I am fairly sure that right before Antonio Langham's contact with an agent before the 1993 Sugar Bowl resulted in our having to forfeit all our wins in the 1993 season --which were ten (10), if I remember correctly -- we were third in the all-time list of winning programs, behind Michigan and Notre Dame, and Texas was right behind us at fourth. The subtraction by the NCAA of our 1993 wins put us fourth and made Texas third.

Now, my friend, this changes the perspective on the situation between Bryant and Royal, doesn't it? They were surely 'neck and neck' about the time Bryant learned the Wishbone from Royal in 1970-71, and Bryant, by winning as much as he did, may have pushed Bama beyond Texas while Royal was coaching Texas -- I do not have the details of that, but I do believe that both Perkins and Stallings were both bequeathed a third place all-time ranking by Bryant, which was lost by Stallings.

That started a slide that has us now sixth in the all-time wins column. If we beat Texas, maybe this will signal our climb back to where we were -- at least third on the all-time list. That is, if we can keep the NCAA boys from finding reasons to keep us from getting there.

The last time Bama and UT played was 1982. Suffice to say there is NOT one player or coach that was on either team when these two mammonths of football programs last met. So this "all time record" crap has no bearing as to what will happen on Thursday.

Mr. Bennett, we finished 9-3-1 in 1993, but you are correct we were 3rd all time in wins. I'm not sure that Texas was 4th at the time. Nebraska was once up there, but their recent slide dropped them some. Texas, at this point, is actually about to pass Notre Dame if the Irish cannot get their act together.

I certainly hope that we can climb back to where we were and that is why I hope that we win the appeal for the wins that the ncaa vacated on the textbook case. Our standing on all of the all-time lists mean a great deal, at least, to me it does. Hoping we can get that elusive win against the Longhorns...

We already passed the Irish and are now No. 2.. we need Rich Rod to stay at Big Blue for a number of years and will pass them as well.

In any event, two of the greatest histories and traditions in college football meeting for the ultimate annual prize.

Hook em Horns and Roll Tide.
Crimson and Cream and Burnt Orange.

Wow, I must have missed it.

That is amazing considering the gap a decade ago. You're right, Texas will pass Michigan too if Rodriguez stays there. I doubt he does, though.

Oh and a minor correction. We're the Crimson and White. Cream's for OU.
