It's comforting to know that BAMA Pride runs far and wide, even on the left coast.........
Jimmy Barnes, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound quarterback from Los Alamitos High in California committed to the Crimson Tide earlier this week.

Barnes, chose Alabama over Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Miami and Arizona.

Barnes threw for 2,346 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior at Los Alamitos. His father, John, is the head coach at Los Alamitos, which is one of the premier programs in California

That is HUGE! I am so impressed with Shula's recruiting ability...

it is almost scary to think of what he can accomplish recuiting if he can just get this team to win some football games!

Jimmy Barnes was a long shot and we got him...I now look for others to fall who will want to follow the #1 QB prospect in the Nation to Alabama!

Shula's already 2/3's of the way there. He's proved he can recruit. He's proved he can prepare a team via practice. Now the last and most important hurdle to ensure that Bama really gets rolling back on the right track is "win some football games."

That will be the proof in the puddin' so to speak. It is crucial he has some type of winning season this year. 7-5 would be great. We just need a winning season to shoot a jolt of confidence in the players already here, showing that what Shula is selling is actually working, and to the recruits that have Bama on their short list. It would show them that Bama is headed in the right direction.

But the worst thing that could happen (other than the entire world spontaneously combusting) is that for some strange reason we botch this season and end up 5-6 or worse.

What is everyone looking at?

What is everyone looking at that shows Jimmy Barnes as the No.1 QB in the country? Bamaonline.com has him listed as 72nd in California, not even No.1 at his position. Does someone have a link?
