Amen, it was almost 5am for me. That is way too late.Thats what I dont need to happen.:eek2: It is hard to get pumped up for a game that late. Much less the the ride home at 3 in the morning.
There is supposed to be 13 games on the SEC network (11:21 slot) so I would guess there would be a game in the slot. When it was JP I think there was a rule they would get each team at least once. Not sure if that rule it still valid. If it is that would be the last chance for us to be in that slot. Why not? Last year Tennessee played at Ole Miss on Nov 14 at Noon ET on CBS and Vanderbilt played Kentucky at 12:21 ET on the SEC Network. I don't believe CBS has exclusivity for the early game of the double header.
I can validate this...the late games are awful for tailgating! When you have over 100,000 people in one place at the same time before and after the game it makes for some very difficult tailgating. It is much, much easier to deal with when the game is in the middle of the day because you have the energy for it. When you have been tailgating all day...and I mean ALL DAY...and the game does not get over until 11 or 12 at night...you won't get home until 1-3 in the morning. That is hard enough to do if all you have been doing is sitting on your couch all day...and us tailgaters are doing the exact opposite of that! For those of us who travel and tailgate, those late games and the 8 p.m. game are akin to torture!!! I must like torture....haven't missed a game yet...but I do plan on missing the Thursday night game. That turn around time is too hard on a not-so spring chick like myself - can really say with conviction that I'm tooooooo old and can't hang with the big boys for that one. :rolleye2:
I want to say that ESPN called dibs on the AU/UGA game prior to the season starting...so it will definitely be the ESPN night game.If we both keep winning, I see no reason it wouldn't be the 2:30 game.
# 16 or 17 ranked MSU @ # 3 or 4 ranked Alabama. Why wouldn't that be a 2:30 game?
Georgia @ AU has some potential, but UGA better keep on winning.
Seems like they did it all the time last year, and they've only used 2 I think this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they have at least 3 and use one for Nov 6.Do we know how many 6-day exemptions CBS gets each year? I think they're going to have a tough decision even with 2 games to fill between Bama/State, UF/USC and AU/UGA. If I were CBS I'd want to see how Bama/LSU and Arky/USC play out to make the call but I don't know if they have that option.
Might be wrong, but I think ESPN already picked the UGA - AU game before the season started, so that ones out.If Mississippi State loses to Kentucky this weekend, they won't be ranked coming into our game. CBS may not want that game if both teams aren't ranked. Verne and his buddy love Cam so who knows.
When the Tide beats LSU this weekend, I expect Miss State and Bama (Upstart Miss St and top ranked Bama) to be the 2:30 game with South Carolina and Florida (for SEC East title) being the 11:00 game due to both games are more important than the 5 Loss Georgia team against Auburn(ESPN).CBS Schedule for the Miss St/ Bama weekend is currently undecided. No such thing as ESPN having first pick on football games now due to the Billion $$ contract SEC has with CBS now. I'd say regardless Bama will either be one of the double headers with the Barn game as the other. Florida and South Carolina look to be the ESPN game. Ole Miss and UT will be ESPN2.

I sure hope so. I bought tickets for the game, and that would be a good time for me.When the Tide beats LSU this weekend, I expect Miss State and Bama (Upstart Miss St and top ranked Bama) to be the 2:30 game with South Carolina and Florida (for SEC East title) being the 11:00 game due to both games are more important than the 5 Loss Georgia team against Auburn(ESPN).
That would be pretty good. It would give me enough time to tailgate and get home at a decent hour. We've got to beat lsu first though. When the Tide beats LSU this weekend, I expect Miss State and Bama (Upstart Miss St and top ranked Bama) to be the 2:30 game with South Carolina and Florida (for SEC East title) being the 11:00 game due to both games are more important than the 5 Loss Georgia team against Auburn(ESPN).
Ole Miss and UT @ 11am? WTH... I guess they are thinking a possible upset with the 5 loss Georgia team.Just announced, CBS doubleheader Ole Miss - UT at 11:00 and AU - UGA at 2:30. Really can't believe we didn't get the 2:30 slot. Two top 20 teams or the #2 team vs. a 5 loss UGA? Seems like an easy choice to me, but they didn't ask.
Cecil just tweeted the game will be at 6:15 central on either ESPN or ESPN2.
